They actually compared the Mojave to the Rubicon more than they compared it to the RZR (which was supposed to be the point of the article?). They titled it "Gladiator vs RZR" but then every other sentence it seems is a glorified version of "you can't compare these two".

What a garbage article.

“While it can handle the high-speed damping needed in fast desert driving, it still doesn't hold a candle to the lightweight, powerful, and nimble Polaris RZR.”

They lost me at:

The Gladiator is just a regular, old pickup truck—maybe with a bit more capability .
after they had stated:

The Polaris is nearly a third the cost of the Jeep at only $23,000...owners would need a transport rig of some sort to get their RZR Pro XP
So you need a $40-50k truck PLUS a $23k SxS to have the same fun you could get in a $45k Mohave. Right. Yah go spend an extra $25k on the SxS, $3k for a trailer, plus whatever it costs to insure the recreational vehicle and trailer each month.

In all fairness, you could buy a $23K SxS and pull it with a beat up ass $1500 truck and a $500 trailer. When you get to the desert you’ll have more fun on the SxS not worrying about bashing up a $50K Mojave. That’s the way I would go if I were into that kinda stuff.

450 a month to insure is what our insurance quoted me. I said nah I’ll risk it.
RZRs are like the wake boats of offroading. All flash, one trick pony. Yawn.
Lol. I use ours all over the farm. Sometimes I get from one side to the other very quickly? it does pull trailers around and haul stuff. Have even used it to pull my older tractor out without getting the big tractor out. We also go ride the woods and trails. Definitely more versatile than a boat ,at least in our life.

Even though I don't own one of those slow poke Rzr's, I agree with the earlier post about having both ...

LOL. I test drove a turbo rzr and said nope I’m not dying in a UTV. I Can’t be trusted with 200hp in 1,000 lbs buggy. Went with just the 1,000. Plenty of speed honestly for me.

I want it. A nacho RZR to pull with my nacho truck. But I spent all my money. On my truck. Haha.

Where can you get a beat up truck for $1500 that will reliably tow a SxS in desert heat?

My dad just sold one. 94 GMC 2500 with 350,000 miles for $1200. It took us everywhere and hauled everything up until a couple months ago when he sold it. He figured it was time to upgrade to haul a skid steer lol Either way, keep enough water on hand and you’ll be fine.
