I've been hemming and hawing on wheel selection when I noticed that the gray versions of the Roswell wheels by KMC (1 of 2 finalists) were significantly cheaper than black. Enough cheaper to where I ended up grabbing 5 for a full spare. They are being powder coated so color doesn't really matter.

Wheel Specs:
Size: 17x8.5
Offset: 0mm
Weight: 26lbs

Tires:
Make: Toyo Open Country A/T 3
Size: 35x11.5

Tires weren't cheap but I've been wanting to run these since they came out. The reduced width vs. 12.5" will help cut down to the ice in winter while slinging a tad less sludge down the side of the truck.

All in all, I was able to get:
5 wheels
5 tires
Set of 4 black spline lugs
$2,243 shipped from Extreme Customs although I had to call in to get that pricing.

I'll update the posting when they come back from powder and when mounted.

Excited to see the outcome! I really like the classic steel wheel look those KMC’s have.

I am looking at those wheels also. I’m leaning towards the black because I don’t think the gray would look right with a sting gray JT. Since you have them on hand, Any thoughts on that?

Following... can’t wait to see yours painted.

I think they might be a bit light to look right on sting gray (awesome color btw). It would be so close in shade that I think they’d compete vs compliment. Black or a custom dark gray would look great.

I just realized you spec’d out a 0 offset. I was looking at the +18. Are you hoping to stay in the wells with a 11.5” wide tire and those rims?

No, based on my calculations with the 11.5” wide tire on the 0mm offset @ 8.5” wide they’ll stick out about 1”. I like somewhat of an aggressive look without so much poke that it slings grime relentlessly. The cool thing about the +18 though is the bore size is a match. I was able to find a set of hub ring adapters though to bring the 0mm version offset down from 78.x to 71.x.

Just a quick follow up on this, the only wheel I opened was in my office area with gobs of very cold lighting. I opened one down in the garage and they appear darker under normal lighting, I’ll post a pic after our boys finish breakfast. They may indeed be dark enough to compliment sting grey vs compete with it.

Here it is under normal lighting conditions. Black would be super safe but yeah, it is a fair bit darker than sting grey and would look nice.

Love your design concept! I struggled to find a powder coat color that would closely match Sarge Green. Can you please update when you get the powder coating done with that Prismatic color? Is it a tad lighter? Darker? How close does it compare to Sarge? Thanks much!

Happy to hear you got a full spare rather than just a partial. That would suck to have only part of a spare when you really need it.

I'll absolutely update the thread. Prismatic's PSS-5675, which they list as a match for PGG Sarge Green, is darker under full sun conditions. The property that allows Sarge Green to lighten under full sun is not mimicked fully in the Powder if that makes sense.

I ordered 8 different swatches from Prismatic, including a few lighter shades. Their PSS-4449 labeled "GI Green" along with PSB-5674 labeled "ECS Green" are both very close under full sun but lighter in shady conditions.

I was originally going to go lighter because an hour after driving, they will be darker anyhow with standard dust & dirt around here but their PSS-5675 Sarge Green is just so sharp that I decided I'd rather lean on it generally appearing darker.

My original plan was to grab a Kenda Klever 35x10 as the spare tire to be mounted on the OEM/Willys wheel but when I found I could get the wheels for a solid deal, I opted to go matching. I'm really excited because I can do full 5 wheel rotations at oil changes. I had a full matching spare on a JKU years back and those tires seemed to last forever when rotating all 5.

Thanks, too risky. The sting gray is like a chameleon. Black it is. Just got a quote from extreme customs.
