I asked Daniel before I ordered and it doesn’t apply to dealer trades either sold factory orders only
Working with Gupton came to know that to qualify for 1% additional rebate financing through them (on top of 7% below invoice) it seems loans must be maintained through seven (7) billing cycles; has anyone else here used financing through Gupton? and had the same conditions? Any success get rid of destination charges or dealers processing fees- I know most don’t do take these off but last year end I have had Ford-150 negotiations where they took off the destination charges and reduced the dealers fee.

Has anyone recently ordered with Gupton? I wonder how long orders are taking? I have to turn in my lease in a month but I can extend it if the building process is as quick as some people are saying.

I ordered with them on 6/14, a well optioned Mojave. I tried to add Gorilla Glass a few days later and Daniel said it was already in D1 status and couldn't be modified. I'm waiting on him to catch up from being out on vacation the last week to get a status update. Don't have VON or VIN yet, but from everything I'm reading Mojave orders seem to be in the 4-5 week range recently.

Thanks. This info helps tremendously.

I did dealer financing but didn’t ask how long the loan needed to be maintained. They got me 2.79% so don’t think I’d do much better elsewhere.

How many miles are on these Jeeps ordered at these dealers? Supposedly, someone leased a 'new' Dodge from another dealer with close to 5K miles on it even though the paperwork listed less than one tenth of that. I prefer my new cars with mileage only reflecting driving on and off the carriers.

Also, at what distance from home is the breakeven point to make an additional 1% off (or more or less) off invoice to make an out of state dealer worth it?

I ordered mine from Gupton and it had 5 miles on it when I picked it up and saved 8,000 off MSRP. Nobody dealing like that up this way. I couldn’t even get a dealer around here to give me the “E price.” I got tired of going back and forth trying to get it that I said the hell with it. Plus around here they add these stupid packages like a nitrogen and oil package, another had pinstripe package that they just add to the sticker pricing. Took a flight to Tennessee, picked up the vehicle and enjoyed the south for a couple days.

Maybe a separate thread, but is a "break-in" period still a thing? I thought one isn't supposed to drive a new engine at a constant RPM range (like on a long highway drive, for example). Is this something to take into account when going far distances to pick up a new vehicle from the best priced dealer? Did you just put some early miles on while touring the South?

Mopar says to drive moderately for the first 300 miles which we did. Even after that
I didn’t beat on it coming home.

Hey guys, another Florida Man here.
I have a question:

1. Do these discounts apply to leases also? I want to order a sport diesel with a few options.

Thanks for this informative thread.

When we bought my wife's JK, the manual had a specific break in procedure (and I'm sure still does). You are supposed to keep it under 55 and vary the speed for some number of miles. 300 is what I recall doing with the JK and reading for the JT.

Personally, I'd do it for 500 miles. That's a much more common and conservative number. After that 500, a lot of people will change the oil for the best synthetic juice that can be found. That's a proper old school technique though, and the intent is to get the fines and sealants out to complete the break in with clean, high quality oil. If you want to be REALLY anal, you'll collect a sample and send it off for UOA. It'll come back full of all sorts of crap you don't want (which is why you changed it in the first place), but it starts the trail at the beginning.

The penalty for not doing this is typically long term oil consumption and reduced fuel economy. It's not the end of the world, but if you're having to tote oil around in your 2 year old truck for when it runs low between changes, you're not going to be happy. It's not surefire though either. A big part of the reason I'm here is the oil consumption in my diesel Bison. I did the full monty, ultra anal break in (name for a sex tape), and something was direly wrong with an oil control ring. It would be fine for a few K miles, then quickly guzzle a few quarts. Additionally, mpg dropped from 26 to 23. It was either installed incorrectly or failed to seat. GM refused to do anything about it, so I sold it to a dealer for CPO resale (someone else will have to deal with it, but they'll have a better warranty than I did and for longer). Conversely, my wife's JKUR is at 80K miles and has never burned a drop and gets between 21-23 mpg.
