Otherwise it seems like Jeep really drags out the base Sport builds since their profit margins are so much lower on those.
Is there any truth to this? If so, it gives me a little more hope as I ended up switching my order from a Sport S to a Rubicon at the last minute.

Gator Rubicon looks amazing, love it!

Daniel is certainly not on vacation, at least in terms of not having email access. I think he's getting a lot of emails and is triaging them somewhat. I'll just tell my own experience - when the credible reports of Gecko being orderable emerged last week I wrote him immediately check ask him to confirm and I didn't hear back at all the next day. Once I got confirmation from a different dealer that Gecko really was orderable I wrote Daniel back and said basically "nevermind on my previous query, I'm ready to order today, here's my order details." From that point he responded super promptly to everything.

Without going so far as to defend that communication strategy (even if I'm in fact correct, again I'm extrapolating from only my own experience), I'd probably recommend starting a new email chain (so it doesn't appear in his inbox as part of an existing "guy not ordering" conversation and keeping the email succinct and to the point that you're looking to buy :)

EDIT: I read the original comment about his communication delays more carefully. I bet questions about lifts and trades vastly complicate the arrangement from his perspective as sales manager. I'd not blame him in not devoting much time when he has firm orders ready to go in, but I'd also not at all blame you for not wanting to order with those areas unsettled. If I could only do a deal with Gladiator + trade + lift all bundled I guess I'd only shop local. That said, if it was me I'd look to un-bundle as much as I could and try to sell the current vehicle privately or via one of the car buying sites which I bet would beat Gupton anyways, and then get the lift installed locally where you can easily cross-shop just that price over the phone.
Looking for some information! I sent Daniel from Gupton Motors an email today about getting an estimate for a Gladiator and he replied to send him an exact, complete order for what I want. He replied right away!

I've been off the forum for over a year or two, since I was going to purchase a Bronco, and I did, sort of, but what a mess with Ford. I originally was going to purchase a Gladiator when they came out, but then Ford came out with the Bronco, which is supposed to be more car-like vehicle, which is all I want, as mall cruiser, with the ability to take off the doors/top!

My brother had an International Scout years and years and years ago, and I remember taking off the metal roof and cruising, wow, what good times! And with Gecko Green now available, wow, what a combination, and with AWD and with a bed to use at Home Depot/Menards, I'm looking real hard for a good deal. I'm aware of Tread Lightly, because I was looking at the Gladiator, I believe my wife's employer is available for the participating for a small fee and 30 days activity.

So my questions is, is the chip delay a real problem? I actually have my Bronco built, but with the top problem, it's going to sit in a lot until October, November, or December, yikes! And, where can I get a copy of the 2021 Gladiator pricing/packages to send to Daniel on this site?

I'm looking at a Sport S, Gecko, Hardtop, side steps, 3.6, auto, AWD, Convenience Group, Cold Weather, Active Safety, Tech Group, LED, Popular Group, Bed Liner, and Roll up Tonneau, or something real close! Gladiator Build sometimes has me remove some items for others, which I don't understand!

Anyways, any assistance is appreciated!

You can build your gladiator to your specs on Jeep.com and then save it as a PDF on the site. You send the PDF to Daniel and he will reply with pricing.

Great! Thanks! How’s the chip delay hurting delivery? Or is that trim-specific! My choice of a Sport S is a lower trim.

I’m across the river from St. Louis in southern Illinois. I ordered my Mojave from Daniel on July 20th and has an expected ship date on August 20th. I’m not going to hold my breath until my Mojave is parked in my garage.

There are many speculations about chip delays and the impact on particular models. Some say Rubicons and Mojaves seem to get priority over less trim models.

Now that's the southern portion of the state! Oh wow, so you ordered from Daniel! Kool, so 6%-8% below invoice? I need to send him my build ASAP!

Yes I did. You send him your build and he provides a breakdown of pricing, including 6% pricing, 7% pricing with the tread lightly discount and the %8 discount with TL and financing through him. Once you order through him, he sends a VON pretty quickly. I got my VIN from Jeep Chat three days later after my order. I will wait to delivery for my final assessment, but so far, it has been a super easy process.

@Kane County 617 It was mentioned above, but you should consider either fast tracking this or cooling your jets a little. The MY22 was expected to be unveiled at the NYC Auto Show, which was cancelled due to Covid. Instead, they're supposed to be unveiling things via other media. Not sure what, where, how, etc., but expectation is that we know what 2022 will bring for the JT within the next week. Shortly after that, they shut down the MY21 orders, wrap up what they got, open up MY22 orders, then retool for MY22 production. You won't be getting a better deal ordering a MY21 over a MY22. 8% under invoice is the best thing going anywhere. Period. My personal expectations for changes for MY22 include a new color palette, and UConnect5, full stop. There are others who have greater expectations, but it's all just speculation either way. If you don't want wireless CarPlay/Android Auto (the only noteworthy thing I'm aware of that comes with UConnect5) and are happy with the currently available colors (note that not all colors on the builder can be ordered any more), then you need to act very quickly. If you don't care as much about any of the current colors, and/or think wireless phone integration is a good idea, maybe hold off a week (knowing that you're likely adding the retooling period to your lead time).

WOW! Great info! Gecko green is what is getting me to move quickly! I thought I read somewhere that they will stop offering gecko green in October. We’ve always had Siri’s in our cars, which is what I was planning on doing with a new gladiator! My wife’s Honda CRV has the wireless phone and we do not use it on her car. What I also found out yesterday, and maybe you can confirm, that with the current Uconnect you can remote start your gladiator from anywhere as long as you have the cold weather package that has the remote and Internet connection, is that correct? I thought Ford was the only one that had that. I have a brand new Ford F150 crew cab that has Ford pass and I’m able to remote start my truck from anywhere, end it wasn’t even built with a remote start Key FOB! Do you know if there will be a big price increase with the 22s? Again, thank you for your info! Sal

If Gecko is your primary mover, you need to move quickly. I believe they'll stop MAKING them in October, but the order sheets will close well before then. It's a fuzzy datapoint. The leaked document contained obviously incorrect information stating MY21 order books would be closed 4/8/21, but that was obviously false even then. There was suspicion that it might have been a typo of the European date format meaning the books would close a few weeks ago, which also didn't happen. It's a pretty solid bet that we know MY21 details later this week, and part of the reason to keep a tight lid on those specs is to keep people from waiting to buy for such and such a bell or whistle. It stands to reason with that logic that the reverse would also be true in that you'd want to "order now!", because they're going to close the book at the same time. I don't believe there's much expectation for overlap of MY21 order books being open while MY22 information is available.

As for the phone app remote start... That sounds very undesirable to me. I prefer a stand alone key fob to a phone app that's tied to planned obsolescence. I'm personally waiting on the MY22, so I don't have that information. If that feature is a thing now, it's not likely to stop being a thing in the future given the way things are going. If the color matters and wireless phone connectivity doesn't, I'd be looking to move fairly quickly.

There is expected to be a price increase for MY22, and already has been within MY21. It's not likely to be huge. Cost of living adjustment sort of thing.

Head back to the parent forum of this thread, and look in the stickies. There's a thread with a google sheets spreadsheet that has all the options and their costs (MSRP and invoice) as well as a financial calculator that includes a % under invoice cell. Some of the data is a bit out of date (from memory, it was last updated in April, so the prices will be a little low and it may not include the Sunrider as an option for instance), but it'll still get you close and give you a solid ballpark for all the considerations in play.

I just picked up my Sport S with Max Tow and just about every option. Yes there is remote start and unlock. I've had that feature on my 2015 Cherokee and it works great. But you will pay an annual subscription fee to UConnect. Still worth it.
I've used Android Auto in my 07 F150 with an updated head unit. I much prefer Google Maps to the standard navigation app. I never thought about wireless AA until I saw how cluttered the wire from the media panel to my phone looked this morning. The JT is a much smaller living space and I think wireless AA or Apple Play would be worth the wait.

I’m also on the fence between ordering now and waiting for MY22. I want Hydro Blue and doubt it’s going anywhere, so color shouldn’t be a problem. I’d like UConnect 5 and wireless Apple Car Play. I assume it would still be the 8.4” unit.

I’d love a 3.6L 4xE option, but I just don’t see that coming anytime soon or we would have heard about it.

Roughly, what's the annual fee for the UConnect, so I can remote start from my cell? I have FordPass on my work f150, and I can be miles away and can remote start it. I usually subscribe to Sirus for 70s music!
