Hey, FNG here! Been waiting all day for your admins to approve my application ?

Background… I’m considering switch from a scat pack to a Mojave Gladiator for year round, off road fun. I have a work van, this is a weekend fun car. Anyways, I just had a few simple questions and I promised I googled everything but sometimes it’s hard.

1) Any concerns I should know about ahead of time? Or what’s your biggest gripe since purchase.

2) Any MUST haves? Regrets? Over priced useless stuff?

As of now my build is a Mojave and has cold weather, LED lights, gorilla glass, 8.4, hard top, auto, Auto 4X4. The safety stuff I currently have on my car and could care less about it.

Anything else you might want to share you think might be helpful in choosing to order or why not to.

Thanks!

It's a never ending rabbit hole if you start asking needs and wants; it's personal preference. Basically, what will you be using the Gladiator for? Towing or rock crawling? How much do you want to spend?

Thanks for the links, I’ll read through them! I’m very doubtful on rock crawling which is why I’m considering the Mohave. My question was more about factory options than aftermarket, I have to order one first haha.

I have a Mojave and love it. I'll give you my two-cents and opinions, as was mentioned earlier everyone's got a different opinion. Mine came with mud tires which I'm planning on swapping out for all terrain. I find the mud tires a bit rough driving as this is my daily driver and I mostly do beach driving and 'green' off road trails; no rock crawling in my future. I have both hard and soft tops, love the idea of the soft top but the freedom panels are good enough for me most of the time. My biggest gripe is actually a funny one. I'm 6'2" and when I look at the digital dash the dashboard lip cuts off about 1/4" of the screen because due to how high I sit; I have to bend my head down a bit to check the temp/compass :CWL: . It's really not a problem or big deal. As for trims I have the cold weather package and remote start - love it in the winter, having a warm steering wheel is great. My only regret is that I wish I had purchased the proximity unlock as the key fob is big and catches on other stuff in my pocket when I pull it out to unlock the door. My wife's car has the proximity key fob and she can keep the keys in her purse the whole time.

Sweet! Thanks for your insight! I’ve been considering the soft or the hard but not both. But I want to add roof rails so it makes more sense to get the hard top and order a soft or sun top later. I can safely say I won’t have that issue with being too tall ? You got me by a good 6” lol. I have the proximity on my Challenger, I didn’t see that! That’s definitely a handy feature, I saw a key Saturday, they are massive.

Get the auxiliary switches option. Only a few hundred bucks, but it will come in very handy as you add lights, winch, etc.
I saw someone mention that but I couldn’t find it?

Nvm I’m blind lol it’s a package.

Whatever you get, make sure it's a max tow, Mojave, or Rubicon for the reinforced wider front axles and more importantly the 4.10 gears. As for options I got basically all of them and the adaptive cruise is probably the one I cant give up.

If I could do it again I'd probably go from a gas Rubicon to a diesel rubi for the torque and the better gas mileage honestly. If I was sticking with gas I'd probably go Mojave because of the 7k dollar suspension on it. Nothing wrong with my rubi but the Mojave just offers so much more value.

You can add the proximity sensor,

Hmm doesn’t the Mohave have the 4.10 gears standard, the 3.73 don’t even look like they’re available. But what’s the max tow, tow package? I don’t see myself towing anything but if there’s other benefits. I love ACC, awesome feature.

I have picked the Mohave for my own personal driving. Unless someone can convince me otherwise lol. I won’t rock crawl but the one I choose will have to be able to drive trails in Colorado. I figured either one was plenty capable enough.
