If Gecko is your primary mover, you need to move quickly. I believe they'll stop MAKING them in October, but the order sheets will close well before then. It's a fuzzy datapoint. The leaked document contained obviously incorrect information stating MY21 order books would be closed 4/8/21, but that was obviously false even then. There was suspicion that it might have been a typo of the European date format meaning the books would close a few weeks ago, which also didn't happen. It's a pretty solid bet that we know MY21 details later this week, and part of the reason to keep a tight lid on those specs is to keep people from waiting to buy for such and such a bell or whistle. It stands to reason with that logic that the reverse would also be true in that you'd want to "order now!", because they're going to close the book at the same time. I don't believe there's much expectation for overlap of MY21 order books being open while MY22 information is available.

As for the phone app remote start... That sounds very undesirable to me. I prefer a stand alone key fob to a phone app that's tied to planned obsolescence. I'm personally waiting on the MY22, so I don't have that information. If that feature is a thing now, it's not likely to stop being a thing in the future given the way things are going. If the color matters and wireless phone connectivity doesn't, I'd be looking to move fairly quickly.

There is expected to be a price increase for MY22, and already has been within MY21. It's not likely to be huge. Cost of living adjustment sort of thing.

Head back to the parent forum of this thread, and look in the stickies. There's a thread with a google sheets spreadsheet that has all the options and their costs (MSRP and invoice) as well as a financial calculator that includes a % under invoice cell. Some of the data is a bit out of date (from memory, it was last updated in April, so the prices will be a little low and it may not include the Sunrider as an option for instance), but it'll still get you close and give you a solid ballpark for all the considerations in play.
Great info!! Yes, it's the Gecko green that grabbing me!! And it's for sure, that it ends in October, right? Thanks again!!

I think it is roughly $15/month. I need to check on a deal for more than one vehicle.

What kind of shipping have people done for this? They set it up or you’re on your own?

For the Bronco sitting at the Ford plant? Once they re-tool the vendor's plant and produce the new tops, they'll replace the bad tops and then send them to the Ford dealers, which I know will take months to catch up!

Production. Order books may close as soon as Thursday afternoon.

The NY Auto Show was supposed to be 8/20-29. MY22 Gladiator details were anticipated to be announced during that event. The (or at least one of the) reason(s) manufacturers are so keen to keep the details of upcoming models secret is so that people will buy NOW. They don't want you waiting for some upcoming bell or whistle. Following that same logic combined with the realities of manufacturing would have them close the MY21 books in close temporal proximity to the release of that information. Ostensibly, no one is going to want the old once the new is announced, so keeping the books open is pointless, plus they can't make them both at the same time.

The most likely/logical course of action is, on the day of the big reveal (as soon asFriday morning), 1) they close MY21 the books, 2) make the MY22 announcement, 3) open the MY22 books to take advantage of whatever excitement. Then, over the following month or two, they'll 1) finish up production on MY21 to deliver on existing orders, 2) shut down to retool for MY22 production, 3) begin MY22 production. MY22 production is expected to begin in late-November. Retool can take as little as a week or as long as a month. The Gladiator production line is shared with the Wrangler, so there is a great deal of crossover and interconnection between the two, and the volume of JT orders has little to no bearing on how long it takes to wrap up MY21 orders because the JL uptake dwarfs the JT. Additionally, the JL gets a number of things the JT doesn't (i.e. 4Xe, though that might change, but I doubt it), and those options/details may affect the line independently of the JT changes.

I'm almost certainly about to submit an order through Gupton, but I'm curious how some dealers can go so low below invoice? I've asked a handful of local dealers and none of them are willing to budge below invoice. A few of them have even been a bit passive-aggressive in their responses to me.

I know, right! It's a great price with Gupton! The only problem I'm dreading is the possible long delay in building the Gladiator!

It's textbook sales methodology. To reach a certain profit level, you can either sell less quantity for more price, or more quantity for less price. Gupton obviously is shooting for the latter, which has the side benefit of expanding their sales reach, which in effect allows their sales model to continue feeding itself. It's brilliant. The guy literally can't keep up with all the Jeeps he's selling now. Meanwhile the dealers wanting to make big money on each sale are sitting at their desks chewing gum hoping somebody walks on the lot today.

I’ve been lurking around the forums for a couple months now and have finally decided to pull the trigger. Sent an email to Daniel this morning and I’m hoping to make it in under the wire. Thanks to everyone on this thread for all of the info!

Ahh, it makes sense now why those guys are sending polite responses with rude undertones. Their gum must be running out of flavor!

You can tell Gupton is all about online orders. They only have three salespeople listed on their website. So they aren’t selling too much off their lot.

In addition, dealers get financially awarded for meeting a certain volume quota. You can also bet that these dealers that push volume get priority in factory orders.
