Have you been to a 2nd dealer? It sounds to me like just a terrible dealer trying to make a buck.

When they do repairs under warranty, the dealership makes MUCH MUCH less on the same repair.

Spot on and might be double billing as of customer and warranty both????

If it was mine, and I was near, i would take it to Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram at Daytona International Auto Mall

I'm assuming you have experience with them? I'd be willing to try, but it's going to be about an hour away. Don't know that I can limp it that far and lord knows what the tow costs would be lol

haha, funny you mention this. I just noticed yesterday, there is a little sticker by the prop rod hole...

The dealers must decide who gets this sticker and who doesn't ? my Jeep has no such sticker, nor have I seen or noticed one on anything I've owned.............. Interesting.

Mine has been cleaned.

At service center waiting on tow to second dealership. Water damage to engine area is diagnosis

Yea it doesn’t look like the dry stuff under hood. We’ll see what next dealership says. Still waiting on tow

After waiting all day for a tow (first tow cancelled on the way), I got the truck to the second dealership. Service rep told me it sounded like an electrical issue and that he’d get it in the shop tomorrow morning and give me a call. Hopefully this dealership doesn’t claim that the engine area is damaged based on the appearance ??

Jeep wouldn’t tow from one dealer to another so I had to go through my insurance’s roadside assistance. I dropped it off and spoke briefly with tech as they were busy. He said we could talk more tomorrow. I’m sure that after he plugs the VIN in, he’ll see that they are second dealership. I’m hoping they come to a different conclusion though

That shouldn't make a bit of difference - and frankly my gut says I'd not tell them until they had seen and rendered a verdict.
Then I'd tell them. I'd not want to shade their findings by prejudicing them in any way.
It sort of depends on how the second dealer acts.
