funny I was sitting here looking at that exact thing.

I wonder how it would feel with your hind end sitting on the floor Pan?
Don't do this, it raises the seat and removes headroom.

It would feel the same as sitting in many cars, which put the seat on the floor.

If the base cushion is long enough to support your thighs this might work. But if they are short, you are setting yourself up for not great comfort.

I'm actually surprised that you aren't having a problem with leg room. I'm not tall, but of many of the reviews I've read they complain about not being able to slide the seat back far enough.

One thought -

1) measure the height of the current seat.
2) go sit in cars owned by family or friends that have seats lower than the jeep at its lowest setting.
3) if possible find out the seat hight with the modification and adjust one of those cars to that height.

I owned a Miata years ago. You literally sat on the floor. It was fine. But I'm short and had good thigh support right to the back of my knee.

If you are having these problems, I',m also guessing that you have short legs and a long torso (proportionally speaking) so this might not be a problem.

I hope some of this helps.

***Edit - I just read the product info on seat slammers. It drops the rear of the seat only, which seems like a good thing since thigh support is maintained.

If I was tall, this would work for me since I like the base cushion to slope down towards the back.
My wife's current car has like 9 way adjustable seats and I drive with the back of the base down and the front up.
There is a mod out there that positions the seat back another 4 inches to add legroom. Not sure how sturdy it is though, looked pretty flexible to me.

Which brings up another point. How does all of this affect crash safety.

I was rear ended once and the front seat of my '85 Subaru GL literally broke off the floor. I ended up on my back with my head up against the rear seat back. Not good.

What's your shoe size? My b-i-l is 6'3" size 14, he drove a 'Rocco in high school. We'd order racecars with an extra 4" long footbox so he'd fit. His youngest son turned out 6'5" w/ size 18. Drives an early 2000's 3-series.
i also wear an 18. My foot grew a size a year until I was 18 years old and stopped. Thank god.

I can't even imagine being that tall and driving this. Im 6'3 with a longer torso. I wish this seat could go lower. Also bang my head on the sport bar sometimes getting in and out.

I'm 6' 4" in a Sport S with manual cloth seats. My head gets pretty close to the sport bar and it's even worse for me in the passenger seat.
I did not have this problem in my JK, TJ, YJ or M151A2. Depending on the number of head hits I take it may eventually cause me to find a new vehicle.

I’m about 6”7’ and my head no matter what I do hits the soundbar. I can slouch down in the seat but then my knees are crammed up into the dashboard.

I swear I had more room in my JK…

I guess I could mod the seat so it sits lower but then I’ll be sitting in the floor and I’m not sure that sounds too appealing either.

anyone else out there have a possible solution I haven’t thought of?
Simple.....

Nope. The sports bar is the problem.
this. There is plenty of room under the freedom panels. But unless you want to drive with your knees beside your ears as if your sitting in a toddlers power-wheel, you have to move the seat back as far as it will go. This puts your cranium directly under the sport bar. Even completely removing the top does not solve the issue.

I, like Lance, do not recall having this issue in the JK.

Im really considering the seat slammers, but I do worry about the crash safety factor.

I looked and asked lots of time for help with the seat height issue, but was told here that I "shouldn't be having a problem". I did a couple of things that you can see in my previous posts, but none of those made me want to keep the truck....so I sold it. (the white one in the picture.)

I soon was disliking the Ridgeline that I got next, and started looking at Gladiators again, and when I learned of the "Seat Slammers", I considered giving it another go......and I'm so happy that I did. I had to also add the Seat Jackers to the front, so that the seat base would clear the floor pan, and this gave the seat a weird, rearward slant. But Yaahhhh.......my head didn't hit the sound bar any more, and I could actually see the tops of the gauges on the dash. It only took a couple of weeks for the setup to feel natural again, and I'm so damn happy with my '23 Black High Altitude that I just wanna live in it!!

Your ass won't really be "on the floor" but your knees will be raised higher, and that feels funny at first. Now I actually like. Cutting off the rear seat legs wasn't painful at all, cause I HATED those damn things. I still bump my head getting in and out sometimes, but now my head clears that damn sound bar, and I feel like I'd actually be SAFER in a crash.

It would suck if your rear end was sitting on bare metal, but it won’t be…just cut the legs off the seat until your in and as comfortable as possible then have them welded to fit the mounting holes, if that’s still not enough, HF has a $20 sawsall and go slasher on the sound bar…it’s just plastic. Also if you’re not far enough back, look at a rear seat delete and move the mounts back until the head rest hits the back window. You’ll fit.
