I don't know about you all, but when I have the LED lights, the white seems to get lost in the rain or on partially lit roadways. I love the brightness of LEDs but just need some contrast. That is where the Diode Dynamics SS3 Ambers come in. I just put a set on my wife's 4xe, at her request after driving my Gladiator that has them. Got them on and went for a drive. It is the perfect amount of contrast, keeps the light visible in most situations and is easy on the eyes.

I still love mine even with the occasional shut off issues.

I too love my DD ambers. Great light output; highly recommend them.

I’m considering some, but not sure how they’d fit if I purchase an aftermarket bumper.

Thoughts on mounting them on top of the bumper?

You can order mounting kits for all the different stock bumpers, and they come with a pair of universal brackets also. If the aftermarket bumpers fit stock lights these will fit.

My plan is for all auxiliary lighting and fogs to be amber. With 8,000 lumens total from my low beam headlights, I don't need anymore forward white light lol

I’m happy with my stock LED fogs but thought of getting these and mounting on top of the bumper, aimed downward; foul weather driving.

your thoughts?

That is how my truck is set up. I ran white LED fogs for a while in the stock location, but then I got tired of messing with the aux switch, because I would basically always want them on, so I added them to the stock location.

I'm similar to Dave.

I put mine in the cowl spot first. Then realized I didn't like them that high.

So I'm moving them down to the bumper to replace the factory fogs. The Set of White SS3 Pro Spots I ordered will go to the cowl to act more like uber high beams.
