Lookin' good.

Having done several TJ/LJ/YJ 1 ton swaps when I use to build Jeeps fulltime for a living, I know they can get quite involved - have you decided which route you'd like to go for steering/hydro assist etc?

Yes. I am building my own tie rod and drag link from 1-1/2” DOM and purchasing a Redneck Hydro cylinder and hose kit and having them drill and tap my gearbox. I was going to tap it myself but I’d like them to look over the gearbox and rebuild it if needed. It only have a few thousand miles on it but I am getting very bad death wobbles. Just want to make sure all is good. I went on a 4 wheeling trip shortly after I had the steel box put in by the dealership. We were cruising around on a regular dirt road not paying attention and hit a big rock with the left tire. It spun the wheel out of my hand and clocked my steering wheel 90 degrees off from normal. Since then I have had bad death wobbles.

I just built an 1999-2004 Ford Dana 60 and GM14 bolt for a client's Hemi JL, but never got to the bottom of the abs issue. I machined the rear hubs for the 52 tooth rings but there were no brackets for the sensors yet....Artec kept promising a solution in a few weeks for the past months. Client claims Fusion has a solution for the front abs.

I got them all welded up, ARBs, and 5.38s installed, but bowed out of the install when he wanted to install all 4 sensors on the rear axle for liability reasons.

The rear tone rings you installed should have had 60t vs 52t. Ford Dana 60s have 60t. Then it would have fooled the electronics. As for the rear sensors you would have had to custom fab something.

I just did what the client wanted since he was the one all geeked out on the internet. I don't have time to chase all the details down....I don't have enough time for what we have going now....... He was going to get the Fusion front 52t hubs, but then he kept changing his mind. He toold me the Tazer could change the tooth counts for the axles too?

IDK, I would just buy the bolt in solution because I don't have the time to sort out the gremlins and liability is always a concern where business is concerned.

With all sensors installed on the rear axle, I envision the rear axle locking and losing F/R brakes with the ABS module thinking all wheels are locking? Sounds like a disaster and not the level of work my shop is known for.

I completely understand. I am hoping everything works out perfect on my rig. I’ll let you know either way.

The client also mentioned the Dodge sensor would read 1 pulse per tooth and the JL sensor reads 2 pulses per tooth, so it wouldn't work regardless........IDK, just going off what he said. I do the gear/locker mechanical installs not much of the electronic stuff.....I know just enough to get in trouble!

I know what you mean and understand your situation.

I'm an east coast transplant from SoCal. I use to build Jeeps fulltime for a while. Perhaps you know mrblaine (Blaine Johnson), he's one of the guys I built Jeeps with. He ownes Black Magic Brakes and use to do work for Gerald (Savvy Offroad).

I often did grunt work, and Blaine did almost all of the knit picky stuff. Kept me plenty busy and learned a thing or two that way.

I dont know Mr Johnson but have talked to him a few times over the years and have install some of his brake parts.

I also recognize your handle from Jeep Forums when I was a bit more active building up my YJ.

Yep, I've been a mod there for ~17 years. :bandit:

BOT: Looking forward to seeing more progress as you have time to post.

Hello All. Finally got these all assembled and installed. Mounted my Existing tires on new wheels this weekend too. Waiting on my new Drivelines from Adams Driveshaft. I've been looking around locally to see if someone can custom build me some brake lines to go from jeep to ford.
