Spent the afternoon installing these - well, actually, about 60 seconds of the afternoon and that includes opening the plastic they are sealed into individually.
My wife really likes them - she says they are "pretty".

Dam - didn't realize how filthy the inside of that truck was until these pics!

Stopped at a CAT scale today to find out the weight of my Mojave.

Does this sound right to you guys ?

Front end is heavy with the Mopac/Rubicon metal bumper, plus warn evo 10s winch + winch plate, rear has a Yakima overhaul rack fitted. Gas tank was approx 60% full. Plus whatever other crap I have inside the vehicle.

Factory says 4950, guess you would have to calculate if you have added about 400 lbs. I think those scales are pretty accurate though. seems good to me

My Stock JLUR loaded (steel bumper, performance rock rails, SOT, etc) with 3.6L weighs 4900 with full tank of gas. My understanding is the JTR is about 300-400lbs more than a similarly equipped JLUR. GVWR on the JLUR is 5800 and the JTR was 6250. Never weighed the JTR stock.

and of course we are subtracting that from the payload capacity which includes people in the vehicle. Wouldn't want to carry to much extra.

Everything you add weight-wise, such as heavier bumpers, winch, skid plates, bed accessories, and so on, count against the payload weight. So if you added 300 pounds of winch, skid plates, bumpers and other stuff and your payload is 1200, you now have 900 pounds you can toss into the vehicle next trip.

Maybe a dumb question…..but doesn’t adding stronger components like different/longer suspension components & maybe tires positivity impact payload?

I guess I don’t know what the failure point(s) is/are if you go over payload capacity. Ball joints come to mind but what else?

Another way to ask this question is: If one is running over capacity because of added accessories, what can/should you also upgrade to mitigate failure possibilities?

I think it comes down to liability more than pure function. You may upgrade springs, airbags, and other components to handle more weight but if anything happens while over the listed GVW you'd be in some serious hot water.

With who though? I mean let’s say you have an accident over the GVWR and you total your JT, who exactly is hauling your JT off to the truck scale? I think it’s more to protect the manufacturer, ie Chrysler. More realistic hypothetical, you damage a part, then they don’t cover the warranty, but me thinks they might have a hard time proving it, unless you take it to the dealer with all your shit still mounted on it. I wouldn’t go over GVWR (intentionally), just playing devils advocate because I often see really modded out rigs and wonder how they stay under payload. I follow one guy on YT and he’s got a bunch of subscribers and his JT is tricked out because his sponsors just give him free shit. I once asked him if he knew how much it weighed with everything. His response was basically, don’t know, don’t care. Interesting. But why would he, it’s all free and I’m sure he’s not paying the shop he uses and hi-lights on his channel to fix his shit when he breaks it.

Got these installed today. Pretty easy. My RC spacers worked great but the factory springs sagged like some granny titties, so I bought a some MC 3.5 springs figuring they will sag a bit with the diesel. I cut around 3 1/2 of the factory metal bumps instead of the 3” they called for. I set is about 1/2” of shock shaft left. Good thing because the tires are pretty close. Lol

Everything worked out fine. The pass side is tight on top with the wiring for the diesel but it moves around fairly easy.
A few pics. I am running Rancho 9000XL shocks for 3.5“ lift. Amazing ride. So soft.

Put up my JCR roof rack today. Still waiting on my JCR Bed Rack to arrive. Also used a tap on the bed holes today which had rhino liner all over them in preparation for me installing my bedrug and Builtright rails tomorrow.
On another note opened my box of my Arcus bumper to find out it was missing almost all of its components except the bumper shell. And for me to now wait for a replacement it could be 2-3 months. Worked with the seller to return it and get a great deal on a HD full width bumper with overrider instead. Oh the joys of current world affairs.

I installed the Oracle LED Conversion Kit on my 2021 JTR and they give off a great pattern. It is interesting though, because sometimes I feel as if the low beams light up the road more than the high beams.
I had that same experience with a different brand aftermarket replacement. Try aiming them lower.

I picked up used locker switch with the factory harness plug and wiring attached. The rear will operate just as a standard Rubicon does. The plan is to pig tail off the front/rear power on and use a relay to send power the the front locker.

The new Eaton one wire eLocker is a simple power on to engage. So it should lock once I flip the switch up to send power. I’ve looked at the schematics for the factory harness and Eaton it should work. I will keep everyone posted if it works and what’s involved.
Im curious if this will work or if the switch is just a canbus signal to a module that is actually controlling the lockers.
