Maybe a dumb question…..but doesn’t adding stronger components like different/longer suspension components & maybe tires positivity impact payload?

I guess I don’t know what the failure point(s) is/are if you go over payload capacity. Ball joints come to mind but what else?

Another way to ask this question is: If one is running over capacity because of added accessories, what can/should you also upgrade to mitigate failure possibilities?
No, and it's been discussed to death. It's not just a matter of stronger parts. And if you LIFT, you actually make things worse.
You cannot increase payload.
It's also not all about failure - safety is in play here, but people keep trying to over-simplify years of engineering, SAE testing, crash testing, certifications and more. Want a bigger truck by a bloody bigger truck!

With who though? I mean let’s say you have an accident over the GVWR and you total your JT, who exactly is hauling your JT off to the truck scale? I think it’s more to protect the manufacturer, ie Chrysler. More realistic hypothetical, you damage a part, then they don’t cover the warranty, but me thinks they might have a hard time proving it, unless you take it to the dealer with all your shit still mounted on it. I wouldn’t go over GVWR (intentionally), just playing devils advocate because I often see really modded out rigs and wonder how they stay under payload. I follow one guy on YT and he’s got a bunch of subscribers and his JT is tricked out because his sponsors just give him free shit. I once asked him if he knew how much it weighed with everything. His response was basically, don’t know, don’t care. Interesting. But why would he, it’s all free and I’m sure he’s not paying the shop he uses and hi-lights on his channel to fix his shit when he breaks it.
This again? Sorry, but there are entire threads dedicated to this - many of them, hundreds of posts. It's not about protecting "the company". These go through a lot of engineering, design and testing. They must pass tests. A lot enters into it like center of gravity, braking performance, steering performance and more.
I also posted where I literally called the DOT for the state of Iowa and got the scoop. You don't want to be in an accident and be on the wrong side of that sticker. A few pounds won't matter, but much over and you find yourself paying an attorney to fight other attorneys.
Those YT clowns that max out their rigs basically a-holes looking for clicks, recognition, money. Doesn't know what his rig weighs? Why in the world would anyone follow or be influenced by such a clown?
But he's joe cool and people blindly follow such folks so he keeps doing it.
That's the sort I'd dearly love to get tangled up just once - and then explain it on his next video.

From the sounds of things his videos are just plain irresponsible and he knows little about how things REALLY work. Sorry, but that type who blindly does things to get free shit and clicks and his minutes of fame - no time for 'em.

The whole thing has been hashed here for over 2 years, hundreds of posts, several threads. It's science, not springs, shocks and ball joints (the latter have little to do with it) - and as the DOT plainly told me on a phone conversation - although you won't get a ticket, if you end up in an accident and something looks fishy, get ready to hire an attorney.
Accident investigators are quite good at their jobs.

This is how the dealership did mine too. I have a matching spare on mine and they were nice enough to include it on the free tire rotations.
All I had to do was remind them I have a matching spare. After-all, they sold me the 5 tires and installed 'em originally. But they always to the five tire rotation if someone has matching spares and a lot of Grand Cherokees had just that so they were used to doing it, just not with the JT.

Love it so far. Only drove it about 10 miles on the new tires so I guess can't say but we've got these tires on a raptor and have loved them.

For being AT's they are a lot more aggressive looking than most MTs, while not being trash in the snow. Although with this dry winter, I guess that's irrelevant lol

I worked for a state DOT close to you. They aren’t coming to weigh your vehicle after a crash because they think you were over. They don’t even go to an accident site. It’s handled by highway patrol/local pd and fire/ems. They may contact DOT if there is damage to guardrail/median barrier/pavement/etc. I agree with your assessment of the YT guys and your assessment that there a ton of threads covering this old topic. My point is the legal/insurance comments around it are BS.

Posted these elsewhere but adding (with gear swap) a subtle touch. Covers paint matched granite crystal. What sold me on these is 1: the company is great and very helpful and 2: my last name starts with “M” so I can tell people they are one off custom ?
Orange no one is likely to notice, but goes with the few orange accents I’ve done on the truck (rokblox logo, tailgate badge outline, Mojave fender badges, track bar.)

Do the door latch guards… do anything ?

Beyond looking cool and costing next to nothing - I couldn't tell you yet. It is too flipping cold where I live to take the doors off. They are supposed to protect the latches from scratches. This will come into play once I add tube doors and a door latch step. Although the door latch step is portable/removable - its the only way I can reach the roof without a ladder to clean it and/or tote stuff with the hard top on.

These are the ones I grabbed. I tried ordering from another company but they never arrived. I ended up with two extra latch covers since the pack came with 6. I store those under the back seat.

This could be the slogan for the entire forum haha But I for one am glad to see new members coming on board and asking questions, even if the answer already exists. two years and a bit in and the forum is active, thats a great thing!

With one possible exception and you know the thread I mean HAHAHA-
Something about a last Jeep? My guess is that it makes it to Christmas 2022 and no one will suggest it's run its course ;-)

Tereflex rear track bar correction bracket. I like it solid easy install, you can see how parallel it makes the track bar to the axle. Went on a cruise over a really poor condition asphalt road and at 50 to 60 mph this Mojave is awesome. Not sure how much the bracket helped though. Admittedly I am come out of my 3rd 2 door wrangler.

Had to get my rear different gears changed out due to bashing a rock on one of my offroad excursions. Actually not sure when or how it happened, so drove with it draining oil only when moving. Never left a mess under the Jeep so didn't realize it until it started making noise. When i did, it sounded like it was coming from the front.

The dealership in town was taking appointments only, so I am scheduled for the the 17th. Good thing i didn't wait though, I went to our local jeep shop and the mechanic took it for a test drive, and we finally saw the damage when we put it on the lift. Not a pretty picture and not covered under warranty. He pretty much said you're not going anywhere. Luckily, he had time and 1100 dollars later....all fixed up. :( Live and learn...
