Hello!

I am ordering 37s m/t tires after I lift my Sport S (3.5" lift kit). I was going to pull trigger on a set that comes mounted and balanced on aftermarket wheels. However, after looking at price tag I'm wondering if I can save a few coins by utilizing my stock wheels.

I am confused though because I see folks running large tires on stock wheels but most of the tires I've looked at say they need at least 8.5" width rim to fit - aren't the stock wheels 7.5"?

To clear up my confusion, will 37X12.5Xr17 fit on stock sport wheels?

You could do the Nitto or Toyo 35x11.50/17s or kenda 35x10.50/17. Im running 35x12.50/17 good Year duratracs without issue on stock steelies (same as sport wheels).

Those look slick. Rethinking my options now...I'm thinking piecing the parts together is the way to go instead of ordering one of the package deals. Will also take out and reuse my TPMS to save a little extra cash (for more mods ;)).

Yeah. With a 37x12.5 I would imagine there would be rubbing while turning. I don’t have this on my rig so I could be wrong tho. I think a 35x12.5 works, from what I’ve read here. But I think a regular sport has a deeper backspace wheel. The Mojave gets a wider track from less backspace wheels, not wider axles.

The Rubicon, Mojave and Sport or Sport S with Max Tow all have wider d44 axles than the other models. The Mojave also has a different offset giving it a slightly wider stance, but all three have the wide d44, which allow for additional clearance running wider tires on stock wheels. No spacers needed on any of these models.

I have BFG 37x12.5 on my stock Rubicon wheels. Now that it's lifted, my steering stabilizer is the limiting factor, steering stops are as far out as they can go without pulling the stabilizer past its travel length. I have plenty of room.

Prior to the lift, I definitely had rub, but only on the lower control arms at full turn, and adjusted the steering stops to compensate: no spacers needed (or wanted)
