Hello!
Been going camping with the wife and two kids, multi day dispersed camping. So we need to bring water, fire wood, collapsible toilet, tent, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, chairs, collapsible table, air compressor, recovery gear, etc... the bed of the Gladiator fills up quick!
Still a lot left to go in the bed when this picture was taken
Because we have two car seats I cant use the space behind the seats. I did take out the storage box under the seat and can now slide stuff under the seats.
The back of the front seats have kid feet protectors, but my kids wont stay still so if I put anything in the molle panels, they find then and start playing with anything we put back there...
Here are some of the ideas I have come up with so far. ! am pretty picky about creating extra noise, bangling, creeking, rattling...
Binoculars: Cut a small slit in the hard top (past the area where the rubber door seal goes) for the strap to go through.
Laptop in a dustproof sleeve: Strap around the roll bar keeps is in place, out of the way and protected from little kids!
First aid kit:
There are some good options to put stuff over roof speakers. Im thinking of using some black rubber stripping or trimmed pool noodles (do they come in black) to keep things from sliding around up there.
I have these two CO trail guide books jammed between the body and the rear seats... These would be great to put over the roof speakers, but ned to work on a solution to keep them in place.
One that I have pending is to use black shock cord over the head of the rear passengers to make like a gear loft so we can put our thermarest sleeping pads up there. I have seen some nets but not the the JT since there is no rear attachment points. With the rolled up sleeping pads its not an issue since they are big enough that they wedge between the speakers/roll bar and the rear of the hard top.
I want to look at an option to relocate the jack from under the rear seat to under the car. Like put it in some type of sealed box and then mout the box sime where under the frame... This would free up a tiny bit of space under the rear seats to slide more gear under there.
An underbody water tank would be awesome! Even if its just gravity fed... But how do you keep it clean of stank when not in use. Plus in the winter it would freeze...
