Hey Fellas -

Are many of you running wheels or tires this wide?

Thoughts?

15.5” wide?? Is it for a tractor? Lol. That’s a big ass tire.
haha. They are are. Saw a photo of a jeep with 20inch x 12ish that are black rhino armoury wheels with Toyo open country that measures 15.5 wide.

Just curious if anyone could share their driving experiences on something like that. I really liked the look but pretty sure I’d get pulled over inside of 10 minutes and hit with a citation

Hope you got deep pockets for those tires. Toyo Open country 40x15.5R-20 is over $600 each.

I saw that. Pricey for sure. Really curious how they run. I’ll grab the 13.5s unless I hear some real life experiences

I have the 35x12.5R-17's on my Power Wagon. They're load range E. They do have a stiff sidewall.

I can tell you how they run.

Unless you have 400 hp, they will be really slow on the street. Steering will be very sluggish. They will be loud and ride terrible because of the enormous unsprung weight.

But you will be able to climb over fallen sequoia trees without getting out of the truck.

If you don't care about having a daily driver that drives worse than an empty cab over tractor, then go for it.

Humor my friend. I'm sure you know they will drive like crap on the street.
Honestly man, it was a bit of a legit question. The build will have a hemi and hydraulic steering assist. Doing 40s regardless but was mostly just curious about the difference in the extra width.

And my reply to you wasn't sarcastic in the slightest. I liked the humour. A lot of folks on various auto forums take themselves incredibly serious - I am not one of them.
