Hey everyone just joined so please move me along if I posted in the wrong section (advanced apologies) just picked up a 2022 gladiator sport s, gas with a whole 9 miles on it 2 weeks ago. Past few days I’ve been hearing like a wub wub noise only starting at 25mph during deceleration. It has been very cold (below 0) and lots of wet roads from northeast storms however I can’t see how it has front end noise at 900 miles. No noise on acceleration and it does not seem to be an issue unless I’ve been driving over 15 minutes and stop and go driving. No shakes wobbles leaks, or warning lights and it has not been off pavement yet. Had woolwax sprayed shortly after picking it up but no mods or curb damage nothing. Dealer will look at it next week however I have about 500 miles to go before that happens. Included a video of the noise however really need to listen closely as if the windows were down outside road noise would drowned it out. Definitely front end and break peddle doesn’t seem to alter it. Stumped any help would be appreciated!

Nope! Stock tires really don’t like them either lots of slipping but I figured I’d swap rims and tires once the salt is off the roads.

Level the truck and check the oil levels in your front and rear diff. Low oil can be a thing from assembly. At least you can check it off the list.

What is your air pressure on the tires. Sweet spot is usually at 35lbs.

Try manual shifting or slowing down in different manual gears or put it in neutral and go through that range too.

Hmmm good idea would make sense since one way or another it seems temp related. Almost like a sticking caliper however since I can not change the noise with the break peddle do not believe it’s related. I use my e break overnight every few days just to keep it in shape I’ve had so many stuck after years of non use. If it was grit between the pad and rotor should have worn off by now. This is why I hate new cars! With a used car a noise is an excuse to take things apart lol.

I’d also try jacking up all 4 corners, level the truck, turn off traction control and go through that speed and listen for it.

If you have to crawl underneath with a stethoscope, I’d do it and have done it with a driver up top while I was on my creeper board moving around listening for shit. Found a whine noise that was driving me crazy coming from the transmission @24k. Dealership said it was normal but I had to get underneath and listen while it went through the gears to find it. Tranny dies at 32k. You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

Good idea, went for an inspection sticker and was surprised they gave it a full safety inspection usually with new cars they just slap a sticker on it, this garage jacked it and pulled on all four corners.

Transmission idea also could be possible maybe tomorrow when I hear it driving I can throw it in neutral with and without tc on. Really only under 25mph to dead stop and seems to be more noticeable with slower stop and go driving. Up in maine it has not been above freezing for weeks.

I guess there’s only one solution… lift kit and bigger tires lol.

Get underneath and check bolts and nuts to make sure they are not loose. A pain, but I found 2 knuckle nuts loose on mine.

You have the "Selec-Trac" transfer case option? That puts CV joints on the front drive axles vs. U-joints. When I went from Rubicon to Willys JT that has the Selec-Trac option, there is a few subtle drive-line noises that were different.

Hmmm not sure really it’s definitely a rotational noise. I would not be surprised at all to find loose fittings. Lots of these new jeeps have been sitting waiting on semiconductors. I found 3 gladiators on lots that were waiting on transmission parts before they could be sold.

It is also temp related after a trip on the highway the noise is gone till maybe 15 minutes of local stop and go driving.

My 4x4 only has 2H 4H N and 4L on the bezel not sure if that’s any indication of what transfer case it utilizes.

Here’s a similar noise I’m having. Only notice it when it’s cold (under 50 degrees). It is most noticeable when I’m slowing down from 35-45 to a stop with a medium press on the brakes. Goes away with a heavy press. Rotational-like thud that can be felt through the brake pedal.

Sounds similar. I did bring mine to the dealer and of course they couldn’t find anything. Least a got an in warrantee slip documenting the issue. They gave me a loaner vehicle, full tank of gas and detailed the jeep in and out so I don’t feel like they were just not caring. I’m wondering if some of the woolwax got on the break hardware but should have burnt off by now. Same as you tho the noise is not affected by breaks unless pressed more than 50%

I wish I could trust my dealer. They spent 5 hours with it and told me they think it’s my “aftermarket fender flares” aka, Rokblokz. I’m not taking it back until I know what it is and only if I need parts replaced ?. I’m currently leaning to a sticky caliper or slide pins. It’s worse at cold temps and after sitting awhile. I’ll keep troubleshooting I guess lol

Same here, it started at around 850 miles currently at about 2200 miles. When I first posted I said it is not changed with any break position. Now it definitely does. I will be swapping the shocks and springs soon and new wheels and tires are on the way. I will look at the breaks maybe they used a sub par high temp grease that’s not good in cold. I’d think tho there would be a lot of noise on this thread if it was that simple however. Would be something if it went away after the suspension upgrades.. it shouldn’t be related but hey a brand new car shouldn’t be making noise so anything is possible.
