CS rates Trucks as if they are cars, just meaningless BS...They do very limitted off-road testing (if any at all).

And ironically, when I started my truck search last fall, they had the Gladiator rated #2 rating in what the call "compact" class (they tested) only behind the Ridgeline...I see they dropped it down a lot for 2022. Handling, wind news, and access the big completes...If you don't know how to drive well maybe you would have a problem with the handling...Yea, a little wind noise, so what crank the music - lol...Access, I can see that for some people with physical issues (try before you buy).

Regardless of anything Consumer Reports says, Jeep could do better.
FCA used Jeep as a cash cow, raising prices and cutting costs (and cheaper parts from suppliers often mean quality suffers). Will Stellantis follow the same model? It sure appears so as they are pushing back on suppliers again.
What I'd like to see is a company with passion for design and functionality (like Jeep) but also with a strong focus on quality. If you're going to charge higher prices, people expect better.

I'd agree they are overpriced, but in my limited ownership so far, I see no appearance of poor quality. Actually, it looks a lot better than anything else I considered in its class before I made the final decision.

It does have some things which "erk" me though, no hood lock and no locking gas cap, 1st world issue for sure and fixes are available after market. I knew this coming in though.

What I am surprised about and a little disappointed, is yea, the truck has a lot of places to store in the cabinet, but they are all relatively small in surface area. Another first world issue.

Other than that, my Mojave rides like a dream, soaks up the bumps with aplomb, plenty of acceleration for a 6, and the aesthetics are STUNNING...And no clue what CS reports or others are talking about as far as "bad-handling".

Sadly I dropped mine off today for the 3 dash lights and the Ess not ready battery charging issue for the 4th time and they put me in a fucking Renegade.

sadly beliefs have replaced fact in many aspects of life
Well said. And the internet is the perfect tool to distribute these "beliefacts".

It brings to mind this quote by Blaise Pascal:
“Truth is so obscure in these times, and falsehood so established, that, unless we love the truth, we cannot know it.”

They can absolutely shove their opinions. On everything they rate.

I worked for a company and knew what products were good and what were crap. They rated our crap number 1. Found out that they only test it against other crap so yeah, our crap was better than the other crap but it was all still crap. I wouldn't have used one if it was given to me and the crap cost $2000.00 so it was CRAP.

Just like consumer Reports opinion.

If you think about it, the Jeep is a terrible vehicle to most people. It is loud as hell from the inside, it sucks gas due to its ridiculous aerodynamics, and compared to other vehicles it’s uncomfortable to sit in. The problem is that I freaking love it. I’ve loved every Jeep I’ve ever owned. I don’t want anything else, well a Challenger Hellcat would be a good second choice.
Rover says "hold my beer". The Gladiator is a Cadillac in comparison.

A JT is a life-style vehicle like a Harley (I ride a Street Glide). The HD does nothing great other than being a Harley and looking good! People buy it because they WANT it, not because its the fastest, or best engineered! The Jeep is exactly the same, people WANT it!

However, people have totally idiotic expectations from a JT. I see it in this forum everyday. How can I tow 10,000 lb, how can I make it quiet, how can I get 100 mpg, is it the best vehicle to commute 100 miles each way, or sit 8!

The JT is judged by parameters it was never meant to conform to....

Handling? Seriously NOT a problem. Not once you have the steering gear actually replaced/fixed. Mine handles extremely well up to 95 - the highest I have gone before I realized I was still living in a reality of highway patrol and other drivers. It was smooth and handled like a dream with zero vibrations and it was solid steering. Some may have read about my adventure trying to out-run the 2020 derecho...... my wife would have never kept motioning to me and saying "faster, faster, get past these guys" if there was any doubt.
Handling is a non-issue. It's not rack and pinion, but it's just fine for a small TRUCK. (it ain't a Camry)

Wind noise - yeah. So? It's a brick, it's not optimized for sound quality outside or in. You know that going into it, or should. My sales guy even said "I need to warn you these are noisy". Again, it's a truck. If you want a refined music hall - this isn't for you. Buy a Grand Cherokee -yeah, JEEP makes quiet vehicles with great towing capacity. My wife's WK2 is rated 6200 pounds towing! So you can STILL buy a Jeep (Grand Cherokee beats out the Defender in snow according to testing done by those truck guys)

Access - my wife complains but she's got a handicap, is 64 and has bad knees and a back messed up by a horse-riding accident after which her parents refused to get her to a doctor.
Mine is lifted slightly- about an inch so that matters. Stock it really wasn't bad.
Access - I had a Chevy Silverado extended cab. I had the dealer install those nice tube-type running boards because I had trouble getting into the truck with the slanted windshield and other things. I find the Gladiator easier to get in and out of than my Chevy in some respects - and compared to my wife's WK2 - the Gladiator is much easier for ME. My wife slips in and out of her Jeep with ease but I find the tall sills, having to step up and over the tall sills then the deep floor inside - and the windshield that slopes back severely, I have to have a seat way back and DUCK as I get in, and step up and over and in. I have more trouble getting in and out of HER Jeep. My truck - not that bad, honestly and if it gets bad as I get older, there are solutions out there. You buy knowing - you'd better test drive and ask "can I get in and out of this thing"?
It's not something you buy and then suddenly the thing morphs and once you get it home you find you can't get in and out of it. That's what showrooms are for and test drives. Test getting in and out. If it's a problem then don't buy the bloody thing, geesh. Don't buy it and then a month later decide you don't like it because it's hard to get in and out of. It's easier for me to get in and out of my JT than my Javelin and it's got low sills and a wide big door.

You should buy knowing things going into it - not think, oh, that's cool, I think I'll buy one and then pick it apart a week later.
This is why I will never blindly buy a car from one of those online outfits unless I have totally driven one locally. Dealers will never go away, IMO. It's stupid to buy something sight-unseen, untried, untested. I think people are lazy. They want everything, work, money, food, clothes, and cars, to come to THEM then bitch if there's a problem.
