it actually recommends top tier gas and no they aren't the same, from my experience in other vehicles that I used 100% gas vs ethanol blended gas, I got better fuel economy.
The Top Tier gas branding does not mean it is ethanol-free. In fact, Top Tier requirements list an ethanol content requirement of 8-10%. Quit talking out of your butt.

that's why you go to a station that is, lol, so you're talking out of your butt, because you can get top-tier gasoline with zero ethanol.

The entire gas station is ethanol free?

We just have single rec fuel pumps at select stations.
yes, I have stations near me that are 100% ethanol free and top-tier

that article is old, and isn't relevant now, because I have top-tire stations near me that are 100% fuel, not blended with ethanol.
Article? That's a document provided directly from Top Tier. Provide a more recent revision if you believe it has been superseded.

it obviously doesn't where I'm at or the stations by law couldn't show it's 100% unleaded fuel

Thanks for confirming you actually have nothing of value to discuss here.

If you provide Top Tier documentation that lists a different ethanol content requirement, I'll gladly stand corrected. But your anecdotal misinformation is meaningless.

Carry on.

the gas station couldn't list it as 100% gasoline if it were not by law, I dunno why that's so hard for you to understand.

Some have ethanol others don’t, not a hard concept to grasp

Top Tier (tm) is a detergent additive marketing certification. They allow for fuels with less ethanol content by special condition: "In markets with lower fuel ethanol content, fuel matching the market conditions of fuel ethanol content can be used up on approval."

It is irrelevant if the fuel 100% gas or ethanol blend.

Also, the product shortage has actually created non-Top Tier gas. But the stations are still allowed to market themselves as Top Tier. Because stickers are a PITA to remove (as evidenced by the "I did that" stickers on many pumps).
"As this shortage is expected to last through the end of the year, you may see some gas stations noting they are unable to supply TOP TIER™ Gasoline at this time. The brand will still be listed on www.toptiergas.com as this will not apply to all stations."

The manual does not say 100% gas (ethanol-free) Top Tier fuel as you asserted.

Manual (p482 '21 manual):
This engine is designed to meet all emissions regulations and provide excellent fuel economy and performance when using high-quality unleaded “Regular” gasoline having an octane rating of 87 as specified by the (R+M)/2 method. The use of higher octane “Premium” gasoline will not provide any benefit over “Regular” gasoline in these engines.

REFORMULATED GASOLINE Many areas of the country require the use of cleaner burning gasoline referred to as “reformulated gasoline”. Reformulated gasoline contains oxygenates and are specifically blended to reduce vehicle emissions and improve air quality. The use of reformulated gasoline is recommended. Properly blended reformulated gasoline will provide improved performance and durability of engine and fuel system components.

MATERIALS ADDED TO FUEL Besides using unleaded gasoline with the proper octane rating, gasolines that contain detergents, corrosion and stability additives are recommended. Using gasolines that have these additives will help improve fuel economy, reduce emissions, and maintain vehicle performance. Designated TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline contains a higher level of detergents to further aide in minimizing engine and fuel system deposits. When available, the usage of TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is recommended. Visit www.toptiergas.com for a list of TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline Retailers.

CAUTION! DO NOT use E-85, gasoline containing methanol, or gasoline containing more than 15% ethanol (E-15). Use of these blends may result in starting and drivability problems, damage critical fuel system components, cause emissions to exceed the applicable standard, and/or cause the Malfunction Indicator Light to illuminate. Please observe pump labels as they should clearly communicate if a fuel contains greater than 15% ethanol (E-15).

I'm not a fuel expert. I just take my time and read things.

the manual recommends top-tier gas, I never said anything about the manual saying 100% gas ethanol free, just saying fuel with no ethanol is better fuel.
