Why do aftermarket wheels have to look so... aftermarket?

My biggest problem with most after market wheels is that they are predominately black - flat, polished, machined. Not a fan of black wheels, but to each their own. That's what makes this community and the Jeeps on display so cool.

Another Quadratec fan here. Took off stock black Mojave wheels the first day and sold them. These are +12 offset. Very slight tire "poke" compared with the factory +37 offset. Stuck with the 33" diameter. Also got matching Jeep center caps from Quadratec to give it that closer to stock look. Works for me.

Of all the OEM wheel designs, I think the Overland’s are definitely the best looking.

I wanted a factory looking option but the ‘proper’ width for larger tires and no real headache worrying about proper offset and back spacing.

The above, coupled with the look of the Quadratec Morphic wheels sealed the deal for me.

But it was the price that made me push the buy button. Trail damage won’t hurt as much with these versus more expensive options.

Run a set of #Mojave wheels. You'll gain 15mm of backspacing.

Same camp. There are definitely aftermarket wheels that look good, but MANY just plain gaudy. I luckily found a set of Willys takeoffs to replace the Sport S wheels (which do look much, much better on a Grand Cherokee).

In addition to Quadratec, Extreme Terrain has some decent looking wheels as well, like the Mammoth Boulder and Jesse Spade among others.

I like those, but -18 offset is a no go for me. that's 2 inches out further than stock for a mojave, and going an inch wider on tire means the tire/rim package with those rims will be out 2.5 inches from stock, and that's more poke than I want

Really like some of the AEV wheels and the Quadratrac wheels. I probably like them because they do look clean and factory. Since I wanted absolutely no poke on my vehicle I stuck with factory. But I decided to go with the Rubicon wheels that came from a two door rubicon .Not a fan of all black, not a fan of chrome, I thought these were a good compromise.
