So when I had my JTR we used a superchips flashcal to recalibrate for 37’s and 4.88’s. Worked great.

Now that we put 315’s on the mojave, am wondering if I need to do this again. Jeep drives on on stock calibration, but looking for comments from those who went ahead and recalibrated after getting 35’s on stock drivetrain and was it worth the cost?

I am on the fence with it.

If you're talking about the cost of buying a programmer alone, my answer is without a doubt yes. I've purchased programmers for every Jeep we've owned. All of my Jeeps have been modded/lifted, so I was able to recalibrate the speedo, activate LED lights when I swapped them on my JLUR, etc. We bought our daughter a '17 JLU, and I swapped her stock rims for my JTR wheels/tires when I upgraded. I was on the fence about buying a programmer for her Jeep just to recalibrate the speedo, but just recently she threw a check engine light. That convinced me to get a programmer for hers too vs going to the dealer and waiting hours on end to get it checked out. I figure I've saved myself time and money over the years to pay myself back for the expense of each programmer.

If all you are wanting to do is adjust for tire size the JScan seems to be an economical way to go. Not a bad idea to adjust speedometer to read correctly. I like the Tazer but a lot of money just for tire size.

any impact on fuel economy or transmission behavior?

I had dealer put 315/70/17 tires on before I even drove it so not really sure. They say these newer transmissions have a learning capability, so after time the may adjust. My mileage averages about 16. I mainly want the speedo to read correct.

I used Jscan to recal for bigger tires. Def helped shifting. I felt like it was hanging on to gears a bit too long before I recalibrated. The complete setup for jscan is under 90 bucks..app with vin license, bypass cable and bluetooth OBDII connector (Cable and obdII connector avail on amazon).

Very easy to use from the app on your phone. You can download the app for free and poke around on it, prior to purchased the complete setup with the vin license for your Jeep. You can walk thru different changes using a demo option on the app, so see what it’s like, without any commitment. You can purchase additional vin licenses for more vehicles for about 20 bucks each, to use the app on any other cars you may have.

hell, you can even return the cable and obdII connector to Amazon afterwards if you wanted to save a few bucks.

I used JScan and you can tell the computer isn't accurate and shift points felt off a little when I was running 315 70 17 BFG KO2s. For under $100 I'd just buy the JScan and have piece of mind and a accurate computer.
