I am planning on getting a Gladiator in the next year, but still haven't completely decided what packages I want. Glad to find this thread, it has some good info. I work (part time), in a dealership, so I see all the trim levels and packages. I just figure that doing my homework on researching Gladiators will help me choose the best way to go.

Are you wanting LEDs for drl? I believe the unpainted fenders are (at least were) incandescent only. So you could get the led headlamps, but not in the fenders. IMO, sarge would look great with a tan top, if that’s available now on the glad, but the black is not so great- too close in value.

OP - If you've had a black one you're glutton for punishment OR you don't give a shit if it gets scratched to hell on trails. Personally, I won't spend $50,000+ on ANYTHING and let it get beat to hell but that's just me.

Get Gobi and enjoy not having to agonize over the dust on your black paint. Personally, I'd get painted fenders because I like a nice looking vehicle and as I said, I'd never beat my Gladiator.

As far as painted versus black fenders. My thoughts are if they get pinstriped to hell and back you could always bed liner the fenders or replace with some aftermarket fenders. Bed liner, is a little rough but I wonder if there is a bed liner with some reduced texture.

My current Gladiator is black and you are 100% correct-it shows EVERYTHING. That fact helped me in the decision to go with gobi. The sarge green and blue probably would show dirt and scratches nearly as much as black.

I ultimately decided to go with the painted fenders. If they do get pinstriped or damaged in some way, there's a whole list of aftermarket fenders that I think look great on these trucks. Besides, it didn't end up costing any more going with that option so why not?

I was stuck on painted fenders for a few days. I had painted fenders on my old jeep and they got a little chewed up over the years - especially the fronts with rocks. I was dead set on going with black fenders, but then as I kept seeing them in person I realized they were either faded, or just looked kind of cheap. I'm getting mine wrapped with PPF so I don't need to worry about them getting chewed up...hopefully.

I kept the the black unpainted hardtop because I felt that was more "traditional" Jeep and is part of what gives the Wrangler/Gladiator that recognizable silhouette.

I've found that fenders get more chewed up running KO2s than almost any other tire. The tread block voids are perfectly sized to hold small gravel and then blast the side of your jeep with them at speed.

It means at build gate, sequenced for production, after that there’s paint, then trim, and then it’s transported
Mines been in paint for 2 weeks now...

Still looks that way, but LED bulbs are cheap.

My hydro blue doesn't show the pinstripes very well.

Will be excited to see your new JT. I choose Hydro with painted fenders, black freedom top. I was waffling between black top or Hydro top. To much blue for my taste with the color match top. 8-12 weeks not bad. Brother in law has a JL 392 Rubi with Recon pack on order since July 13, 8 months and still waiting. It's built but waiting for something just don't know what!!!
