Your original question lacks the context oh how you would use the JTR vs BL. I really don’t have any first hand experience with the BL other then light reading. As for the JTR, I have a JTMojave and like it a good deal. Still, my JTM serves Different purposes compared to the BL and vice versa. I’d suggest you figure out maybe 3 things you’d like to focus your outcome on and weight that criteria accordingly then strike a vote. For instance, if you want to easily haul a bicycle or camp gear, then point goes to the one with a pickup box. However, if you have a short garage depth and you want to park inside, point may likely need to go to the shorter vehicle.
As for power trains and evaluating, well they’re both two different approaches. So, I’d give you a friendly nudge to look deeper. The ford uses turbo for power. That’s great until there is a problem and you’ll likely have them or premature wear on things like heads. For instance, NEVER PUT FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER in a turbo as you’ll run the risk of the increased heat burning out your bearings in your turbo. …but they do create more power.
However, I have no idea of your needs, because there wasn’t context in your original question. Now, if you had said you would be the get away driver in an off road vehicle that needed to sit 4 and have indoor cargo space for the loot, then I'd say get the turbo.
But if you said you wanted a sound engine which more likely than not would have the most power to least maintenance ratio, then get the bigger engine no turbo. For my piece of mind, I really don’t want to have to maintain a turbo engine after say 100k miles. Therefore, I prefer my Jtm’s adequately powered and larger displacement V6 to a BL’s extra exhaust component’s (turbo), because exhaust wears out! Note, I don’t hate turbos, and I previously had a Ford 3.5 eBoost.
IMO, bring you decision back to a real concrete analysis of what will really matters to you.

I said the other order will be at least a year out. And I would wait until then to see how things are in regards to quality. I'm staying away now. Don't think that is confusing at all.
Who’s to say it will be different a year out who’s to say it will be a year out, that could change

For a Gladiator? No. For a Wrangler? More than likely.

Independent suspension + preferable engine = Less headaches

Are you even reading before replying?? For the second time I said I WILL WAIT TO SEE HOW THINGS ARE THEN. And I have over 300 orders ahead of me. So I know it will be at least that long.

I have both in my garage. They both have their pluses and minuses. I think everyone knows what they are by now. I still prefer my gladiator. My wife prefers the bronco. If I’m hitting the freeway, bronco all day. If I’m hitting the trails, gladiator all day. The gladiator wins, just because it’s more practice. Does all the truck stuff.

Also, if you plan on modding, it’s hard to beat a jeep. The bronco is like a 4Runner. All the mods are ridiculously expensive and you have less choices. I got the modular bumper on my bronco. It’s 4K to add the winch mount and winch from ford. You can’t buy the winch mount without the winch. In contrast, I sold my JTR metal bumper for the same price it cost me to buy a Rugged Ridge Arcus bumper with a winch plate. So my cost to add a winch was just the cost of the winch. It’s pretty much the same story with lifts and other mods. It’s cheaper and easier. If you keep things stock, this isn’t an issue.

The Jeep feels more like a purposeful tool. It leans all the way to off road use. The bronco is just like a 4Runner, it tries to bridge the gap of daily driver and off roading. That’s not a bad thing. But I like purpose build feel of the JT.

I love when people call the Gladiator a small truck. Ever park next to a Ranger or S10? The Gladiator looks huge in comparison.
Finally someone said it.

regarding the bronco. Gladiator all the way. I love Jeeps, and hate fords period. That doesn’t make all fords bad, but I hate them. Not based on current facts. Just emotion and preference. Regarding off road capabilities, I’d put my gladiator head to head with any bronco with any trim and modifications, on any trail. That’s an open invitation in CO or sometimes Moab by the way. I’m not a hater of anything different. But I love a good head to head challenge. Bring the land rovers along as well. Seriously. It sounds like a super fun trail day. I’m happy to admit I’m wrong if the JT doesn’t measure up.

You made me think. Now the bronco reminds me of Toyota LJ’s. Capable to a point. Then Jeep wins. But more comfy on the road.

I could have bought either one. But I drove to my dealer and bought a loaded JTR right off the lot for under MSRP. The Bronco needs some "track time" to mature for me to dump that kind of cash and time into it. The JT is a proven platform with a much refined interior.

Trying to get an unbiased answer will be impossible, no matter how impartial we try to be there is always a little bias. Also need to consider what your buy is for, what is your plan with it.

the best I can say is, I’d still go with the JT, not because of brand (though I don’t like ford) the JT has a bed which I use frequently that’s why I bought it. At least one of the reasons.

the JT vs bronco I don’t think is a good comparison either, it makes more sense between wrangler and bronco, neither have a bed.

I've own a Gladiator and have drive the 4 cylinder and the 2.7. I also have a Bronco on order, not a Badlands but a Base model with Sasquatch package. No bells and whistles but you get lockers, beadlocks on 35's, 4.7 gears, steel front bumper with bul bull bar, steel fenders, switched and 2.7 turbo engine for $47,100. I personally wouldn't pay the price for the Badlands and I wouldn't buy one or get rid of my Gladiator for one. I got a base model sport max tow Gladiator and I need a truck bed so there are no comparison there. If you need a truck then the Bronco will not be a option. Now if I was in the market for a Wrangler, which i have previously owned 2, one a 2010 JKU, then I may would buy a Bronco over a Wrangler but never a Gladiator. The Bronco does have more pep, but it ain't towing 7600lbs like my Gladiator Max Tow will.

The wife wants a Bronco so she's getting one. With that said we haven't got a Vin yet and are thinking of Changing our order to a 2 door Bronco Sport with Sasquatch package
