I have an overland , no mods, with 12,000km on it. I have had this sounds for a while but never was able to replicate it. So today, just crawling along in traffic, not even pressing accelerator, just coasting along and this horrible clunking is under the front axle. (Normally I hear clunking when just backing out of the driveway and break over a small crest from garage to driveway).

Mine didn't sound that sharp. But the nut on the front sway bar fell off. When I hit a bump it would rattle.

Can you FEEL it, like a drivetrain issue, or just HEAR it, like something is loose (heatshield, etc)?

I can feel it and hear it.
I had driven about 10km from start until I hit traffic and heard it again.
Now we’ve driven 30km and stopped. Then parked and it’s doing it when going very very slow forward or backward.

Tough to pinpoint from the video... Off the top of my head:

1) differential
2) transfer case (which is near the driver's side)
3) CV joint (only if you have the auto-4wd option)

If it happens when you're going REALLY slow, maybe have someone walk next to it and listen from the outside.. may help pinpoint.

Check, or get the dealer to check, all of the steering and suspension fasteners for proper fit and torque in the front and back.
One thing I've learned pretty quickly is that Jeep apparently didn't do such a great job on that.
I think there's even a TSB on the front ball joints.

Something drivetrain related would usually be more patterned and rhythmic. Erratic like that is probably something like a loose bolt, bad end, bad ball joint, etc. Something like a tie rod or track bar getting knocked around because loose or bad would be my guess. Or a bushing in a control arm has gone bad.

Probably just one of them damn Leprechauns trying to get out. Pop your hood if you’ve been through the hood. Never know what might’ve crawled up in there.

Check your bolt torques .... if you feel it through your feet it us usually coming from the front end ... through the seat and it will be from the back.

I recently had a sharp popping sound from the front ... I believe it was my tie rod

On a stock vehicle, he shouldn't he checking torque himself. He should be documenting with dealer and having dealer fix. I get it if it's been lifted and played with, but OP is stock. Needs to be looked at by dealer.

If you have a GoPro or Osmo Action with a clamp mount, place it under the front bumper facing where the noise seems to be coming from. I have found numerous noises from loose sway bar bracket bolts to coil spring clatter with that method.

I had a noise under the front right. Just looking I saw the lower control arm bolt had some shiny metal around it. A clear sign it had been moving around. The bolt was loose. Tightened it and the sound is gone. There's been no suspension work done on it. Crazy to think a brand new truck with 14k miles could have suspension bolts come loose.

The first step should be a visual inspection. It may not be worth a dealer visit just because of a loose bolt.

Check your inbox.
To the dealer.

Take a look first and see if you notice bolts/nuts missing or pieces hanging off.

If it's truly low speed only, then it's likely something that gets loaded at speed and put in a bind.
