I have a few sets of real LEDs.....

True, but I know people with 10 year old BD lights that came off their race truck and now light up their casual rigs. They've been beaten and abused and still keep on rocking. Barring some freak thing, the $2k lights I have on the truck will probably be the last lights I need given they have what is an effective lifetime warranty.

I went through half a dozen budget LED lights that failed or leaked and eventually bit the bullet. The first time I clicked my pair of LP6 lights on, I decided in that moment I didn't need more forward lighting. The difference between real LED lighting and the Amazon special stuff is unreal.

Hoping you get lucky.

I'm waiting for the same. I haven't been in weather below 32 for them to kick on. I feel lucky the halos and and lights in general are even still working. I got the headlights January of this year. As well as every light for my jt. Wish I'd read these threads before spending so much with them.

Yeah I like the KC stuff a lot too. I was shopping between the LP6, Pro6, and Rigid 360 and the wife almost pulled an executive decision on me over the classic KC covers haha.

The downside to KC is they're all dedicated lights so you commit to flood or spot patterns. With the LP6 or 360 lights they have way more raw output and you can do combo patterns so while they're twice the price, you need half the lights to cover the same area. I've never been a fan of roof mounted stuff personally so getting it all out of a pair on the bumper was a win/win for me.

That's the great thing about Jeeps....million ways to build them. Classic KC covers was part of what did it for me. Functional and aesthetic for me. I have amber tint on some and white on the others. Blew my mind that the light bar only draws a max of 14 amps.

I feel a little conflicted here and I'll try to summarize it below.

A part of me wants to be angry with Oracle, their products are not cheap by any means. There are some apathetic employees from the complaints and I've seen some of them be kinda snarky.

However, I also have all but their fog lights on my truck - bi-LED headlights, reverse lights and flush mount tail lights. Packaging, wiring looms, all top notch in my opinion. Fitment seems to be pretty spot on too. Dare I say very OEM like?

I did need to use JSCAN to make the reverse lights and flush mount tail lights' reverse lights work correctly... this will vary from consumer to consumer but honestly... who cares? Should Oracle have disclosed or maybe tested the resistors for those coming from LED's, halogens, etc? Yeah probably... but with JSCAN or a Tazer it's a non-issue.

Someone will say and with complete right to "I don't think its fair that they market it as plug and play but I then need to..." and this is where I think this is where everyone's mileage will vary.

Personally, I picked up my truck with hand picked 37's, aftermarket wheels, and a 2 inch lift. I then got home and installed phone mounts, camera mounts, a myriad of lighting solutions, a winch, an aftermarket bumper, reinforcement plates before the new car smell went away on my JT and I'll likely never be done! I am actively choosing to make aftermarket modifications for clout, pleasure, hobby, etc. When you take something engineered and modify it, yes... I do come to expect some pain. Especially the first batch of a product!

Are the complaints warranted? To an extent, yes, however from what I've seen on the thread they have offered refunds, credits, etc. for many on their tail light "debacle". A lot of it was supply chain... like you know, literally everything else right now.

In terms of the lights themselves I am sure there are many valid complaints, but the number of folks that look to just not understand that you are taking an inherit risk with an aftermarket modifications. Beyond that.. how many of us can really say we are 100% competent and qualifed mechanics and that we've made absolutely 0 errors on install? I don't work in the automotive industry, but I work in tech and the amount of user error blows my mind at all levels. Taking those user error experiences and transferring them over to what Oracle might be seeing with the DIY crowd, well you get it.... Yes, their instructions can not be the best as "someone used a 'screw gun' on plastic!"... Well that's where being a qualified DIYer or mechanic comes into play.

Then you have people calling for them to be banned as vendors because of poor customer service... It is really easy to just sit here anonymously and talk smack about a company and their products... ANONYMOUSLY. No proof you've purchased anything, just "yeah they suck I'll never buy from them". Give me a break. How would you as a company that needs money to stay afloat if someone purchased your product, you suspect they goofed and it doesn't work?

Could they have handled some situation differently? Sure. Not justifying them being dicks to anyone either.

In this particular case, they are working with the OP. However, their warranty period has expired, but they'll still sell a single unit at a discount... that's taking care of their customer. Not every company has the power of money that Amazon does to send your money back, letting you keep the product and thanking you at the same time.

Just some thoughts that have crossed my mind in the last few weeks.

The KC Flex Era 4, which I have and love, have either spot or combo beams. I have combo and love them. I did a night run in Moab on Golden Spike and I needed no additional light with only two of them. It was daylight in front of me.

Yeah I'm speaking towards the 6 inch rounds. Those are more like my Squadron Pros and honestly all three manufacturers are pretty much identical for the 1/2/4 cell pods. I'd just buy which ever color temp you prefer or matches the rest of your kit.

Meh, when they work without issue's and are truly plug and play I will buy them. But I am not going to buy a Tazer or Jscan just to make my taillights work. In as much as I like the looks of them, I hope they get it all worked out .
