Will take a video of gate. I did not take a pic of the jeep as I thought it was an alignment issue at best. Did not call insurance until the McKinney Dodge told me the damage. Insurance sent adjuster out who reviewed and sent the estimate and issued check. will see if McKinney will send pics. It complete blew my mind as I did not think there was much of an issue at all.

So took it to dealer and they stated twisted dif and trailing arm was bent.
Wait ! What? Your first post states the transfer case was twisted. Now it's a front dif ??? Big difference there.

Difference in terminology ... depending on the force of the impact I could see a control arm possibly being bent. The Control arms themselves are relatively inexpensive, so unless there is unexplained damage to the axle itself the quote does seem high?

If you lost terminology between transfer case and front dif you're in big trouble and probably shouldn't own any tools. Just saying ?

So which direction do you ”twist” a differential that turns a steering wheel 180* but is still driviable?
I’m picturing a differential, you twist it up or down relative to the axle and you’ve stretched or bound the front drive shaft but how does this affect the steering? Any other twist (lateral,clockwise/counterclockwise rotation, or multidirectional) and wouldn’t you need a new axle? Let alone what else must be twisted to get into that position, and if you “twisted“ a transfercase you probably destroyed other parts of your driveline and I don’t see how it could drive and you would need at least a new transfercase.
I could see possibly bending steering parts, knuckles, arms, when the gate hit you were you moving or at extreme wheel turn? I suppose you could shift a whole axle laterally and bend the axle tubes and turn the differental, though I would think the front drive shaft would give first, and one would think you would definitely know something was wrong when you drove it. Pictures would help.

I wouldn’t have taken it to McKinney, even if that’s where you bought it. I wouldn’t let their service department touch my vehicle. If I were you, I’d try for a second opinion from Benson in Greer. It may have most, or even all of the damage stated, but it seems far fetched to me. Not trying to advertise for Benson, but I’ve done a lot of business with them over the last 17 years. I don’t trust dealer service departments, (learned the hard way decades ago), but, they seem to know what they are doing. I be had good luck with them over the years, at least, with warranty work.

Hey Cburd61.thanks for the info. I have not had an issue with Mckinney's service department yet and live a few miles away from them (this might be the one though) Would love to know more about your experience with them. I do know I will probably never buy another car from them again. They were horrible in the experience but they had the color rubicon I wanted (sarge) and I got a decent deal at about 2500 under MSRP 2 months ago. They are replacing they are now also replacing axels, front differential and arms. Again I really did not take pictures as I did not think of it as big of an issue as it has turned out to be. Wish I had so I could show everyone I will see if they can take pics of the parts

A couple of years ago, we bought my daughter a used Grand Cherokee from Benson. My daughter was due for an oil change and tire rotation. She lived in Easley at the time, so took it to McKinney. (Despite my telling her bring it to me, as I do all my own maintenance on our vehicles). Anyway, two broken wheel studs, and a loose oil filter later, I told her that if she ever went there again, I’d sell it. I’ve had 5 new vehicles from Bensons in the last 17 years. Mostly warranty work done, and no issues. They did repair my ‘05 Magnum when someone tried to pry the door open to break in it, and did a killer job fixing it.

I really want to see a video of that gate in action that would do that much damage. Is the gate made for stopping trucks hauling ordinance or armed attacks? Now I've seen ones built and in use for that purpose and ones that will stop a loaded semi-truck. By chance you live in a embassy or something like that? :)
Now joking aside:
This sounds really off on what happened or how much is messed up. My B.S. meter is clicking, thinking about many calls I had many different times. Someone calls to report that his/her vehicle was hit and damaged in parking lot. I arrive to find end of vehicle and side of said vehicle smashed to hell busted lights plastic but no plastic, glass or skid marks to be seen or found.
The initial details sounds unlikely to have made that much damage with out other visible damage to your JT like crushed fender or something. Now driving fast over tall concrete curb / ect. and hitting control arms, FAD and other components could do substantial damage. Now if it's a pop up gate I can see that too.

So here is a video of my gate. 14.5 ft long. I don’t really know why I would lie about this situation. I love my gladiator and it sucks to have to file an insurance claim on a vehicle I have had for less than 3 month. Currently I have 3300 miles on it. This will result in my insurance going up and it is not like I am getting the check. It is going directly to dealer. No benefit other than I get my Jeep back.

I don't think anyone thinks you're lying op. Definitely know situations like this suck.
I believe most of us think your dealer is full of it. Seeing video of the gate, I definitely don't believe it flipped your diff and bent a control arm, but that's just me. Hopefully they get your truck back to you quickly.

:like: so you was on way in the gate as it closed? Now on the damage I'd bet the place doing the repair(s) assessment is padding the bill/ damage reported too.

no on the way out. Didn’t have my opener so just took video. The gate hit directly in the center of the tire. I was turning right and that is why it did not hit bumper or front passenger fender. There were actually county workers in front of house and I was watching them rather then the gate. Again just a freak accident. The gate is only suppose to open or close after hitting the opener.
