Well, I’m down in FL on a trip, have had zero issues since I purchased the Gladiator back in May. Have 2300 miles on it. Went out on a trip today and the flashing engine light came on briefly then went off. Vehicle still drove fine as it has been. Looking for a dealership to take it too. anyone have this happen?

That means active misfire that can damage things. Do not drive your truck like that or you might find yourself replacing a catalyst and O2 sensors.

If it's very brief it's generally fine but I'd definitely get it checked out because flashing typically means a dead miss like a bad coil, injector, or other issue. Might be an intermittent circuit or something.

Drove to the dealer in Delray Beach. The light came on stead (no blinking) got to the dealer and they checked the code. “3rd cylinder misfire” they said At this time i could leave it with them to see if they can get it to happen, or I could continue to drive it ans see if it happens again. They said it may never happen.

They cleared the code and I dove back to where we are staying, had no issues.

Trust me. It'll happen again. They don't magically fix themselves.
I can make mine throw a code for cylinder 5 anytime I want. Just have to floor it going uphill a bit.

That's a multiple cylinder misfire I believe. That's possibly indicative of a larger issue.

You can search these forums for more on that.

Mine isn't fixed yet. They keep clearing the code.
They have offereda Star report on mine. I just haven't set it up yet.
It takes all day.

When mine did it the worst under heavy acceleration and at 85 mph, the light flashed and the entire vehicle shook violently. I was in the left lane of four in heavy traffic. Not a good feeling.

Below are some of the more epic threads on cylinder misfires in our 3.6L Pentastar. There is no one size fit all fix as it could be multiple or a combination of things.

Just be prepared for multiple trips to the dealer unless they get lucky on the first go around and find root cause. How the dealerships handle this for warranty purposes is almost a stab and pray guess for the few first rounds.

Owners who experience these random misfires, what kind of octane gasoline do you guys run?

I ran 87 octane. Tried 89/91/93 octane fuel with no change. I think most if no all who played with different octane rating fuel every had long term success when it came to misfire issues. There was usually a mechanical fix with the occasional PCM software update that helped some.
