After sinking into a mud hole (water through cabin etc) a few months back I did have a RMS leak and a throw out bearing go bad. Warranty covered everything. Dealer said the open housing interface was full of mud and they probably could have given me a hard time but understood. Said the RMS had nothing to do with mud but TOB was fired. Note to self: no gear changing in crossing.

My luck wouldn't have been as good as yours. I will have to remember your lesson or just not go deeper than the axles

I hate mud. I got spoiled when I moved out west to CO. You can find mud there, certain times of year, but it’s avoidable. I miss wheeling hard all day and spraying the dust off and my vehicles being relatively clean.

Interesting. I say that because I watch these videos on YT and the jeeps look like they just came from a detail shop meanwhile I just passed 10k miles and there’s no way I would ever get my jeep detail clean again. It would take a week at a detail shop. Check you videos of Redtail SRA ?

I take care of my vehicles, but you can’t get it all out. When I took my back bumper off the other day, there was a ridiculous level of mud inside that you’d never get out without disassembly or an insane level of detailing. Mine gets absolute trashed out of the farm, on camping and mountain and beach trips (driving out on the beach), but I do what I can to get it clean. Good interior and exterior detail and spray off what I can underneath and also do a touch less car wash with a good undercarriage spray.

Also, I’ve found that keeps me a decent coat of wax, ceramic coating now, cuts way back on the custom pin striping from right trails, or lack thereof out on the farm.
