Yeah, that is a point, vette owners. But Jeeps, c'mon. Such a versatile vehicle. From Trekking across Iceland to getting groceries. I mean, yeah, it's silly taking pics at the Ulta parking lot. But even my pic attached, bone stock Sport in some TJ side street has some interest lol. And yes, ever since the JKU you think nearly everyone has or had one.
Some people just want a convertible, some people just want "the look"...like some people bodybuild and never actually compete (well, most don't). Eh, I usually don't care...sometimes I think its stupid to waste your time and money on something you don't actually use. But to each their own.

I'm an old school Jeep guy. On my 9th Jeep if you include my FJ40 and Roxor. My 1st new Jeep is a JT and Ive driven plenty of other Jeeps along with other off road vehicles US and internationally. For work and pleasure. Since I retired last year I've gotten in to RV hauling now only drive 1/2 and 3/4 t trucks and RV trailers from IN and OR to Anchorage Alaska. I say this because I need to be clear where I'm coming from before someone with 3 years here calls me a newb. Do we even do this anymore? OK, before that guy who got his 1st new Jeep 4 years ago and sank $20k in it and been to 3 trails.

As of this post trip Journals and Reports account for 3,344 messages. This topic involvement is dwarfed by tech section, builds, and basically "what tires can I fit without a lift" topics. Not only here but FB pages. In fact, under this General discussion there are two subjects threads. One is what did you do TO, with 1293 pages and WITH 53 pages. We have the most trail capable 4x4 ever made in history being sold right now, but seems the almost sole discussion is who has what trim and what other crap can you buy for your Jeep.

I see some of the most well built off road Jeeps with the best graphics.. with an impeccable paint and finish. I swear I know a guy with a 99 Suzuki Vitara that has seen more trail use in a month then that a built $110k JT.

I've had my JT for 10 days. And yeah, I've modded a bit. It's a Sport trim. Did 285/70 (33's), knock of rubi bumper, 1.5 level spacers, take off rub rails and that's it until I get the next thing. The day after I got my JT we had to go to TJ, drop off BIL ATV in SD, and other things, Tooled around San Diego a bit and drove back to AZ. Yeah, I realize its not a trip report to Imogene Pass, but that's next. Have you driven in Mexico? A Jeep is made for Mexico no question about that. Also plan to take local trails. Nothing crazy, yet. I also want to take my Jeep to Alaska since I'm familiar with the road, summer and winter.

And to also say, Jeeps aren't the only ones. Name any brand. Seems like only Adventure bikers are the ones bragging where they've been. Guns too. It's all about some crap they put on and not about a course, range report, or hunt.

So how about we add some Arizona pin striping and hear about getting a flat or stuck somewhere more than hearing about who has the best trim level, or the 1 millionth will 35 fit... We have the most versatile vehicle ever made in production. So let's hear more on these adventures and where you've been. Who cares if its bone stock or the most mods.

Its societal. Not defending or attacking it, but what's important and what people enjoy has changed a lot in the last 25 years. I'm with you, I'd rather have a great time and memories with what I have than make what I have "better", but that's me. As long as it makes people happy and meets their goals, mod and garage keep your vehicles of all types to your hearts content!

Simple - posers and mall crawlers are a thing, and have been for years. Its nothing new to the auto field. Plenty of people own Vette's and never track them and yet put turbos and power adders on them all the time. Jeeps have had a 15yr run up on popularity, so its no exception. Vast majority of these people are attention seekers living paycheck to paycheck...I say that because there's a strong correlation between the 2....brand association and attention seeking and poor finances.

Then you have the people that want to do a lot of stuff, like me...stuff that REQUIRES the modifying the Jeep quite heavily. What we DO TO the Jeep is a means to what we DO WITH the Jeep.
who cares what ppl do with their jeeps or why they do it. “Posers and mall crawlers” or just normal ppl that buy a jeep for a daily driver is probably 90% of buyers and likely the reason jeeps still in business. Ppl should stop judging or name calling ppl cuz they don’t buy jeeps to off-road. Makes you look a certain type of way. What I like about the jeep community is most ppl are accepting and do you, kinda ppl. The diversity in ppl is what’s makes owning a jeep so great. That’s just my opinion

See we need to see more of this. I have a few vids I already did with my 1st 96 hours with the JT. But it's intagram short.

But I'm no youtuber,. I have a couple with the Roxor. This was a few years ago bone stock Roxor on BFG in 235's. Stuck vehicles up the trail prevented going all the way up. No reason a stock JT couldn't do it with same tires.

People Work?
Fun thing about forums, social media, etc., If you don't like what you see you don't have to see it.
If you REALLY don't like what you see you can go make a place that's exactly what you want it to be.
You don't have to waste your energy and time complaining about it.

I do look at these videos Neat seeing the YJ in action. And for those of us out west this is a typical 4x4 run. The JT has a decent turn radius

Ever heard of Land Ops out of somewhere in SoCal?

Great advice. Never crossed my mind I could do this. Heaven forbid we ever discuss or debate anything ... on a forum no less. I mean, can I fit 35's without a lift again? I forgot. Or was I supposed to ask about 37's?

I knew someone would say this. Someone put a duck on my Roxor before I even knew what ducking a Jeep was all about. I thought someone was messing with me. And to be fair, when I had my FJ40, which doors, top can come off and winshield folds, had a 93" WB, etc etc, When someone called it a Jeep, I'd snap back "It's not a Jeep!" Today, I'd say, yeah, sure. Whatever It's a Jeep

My first Jeep was a Toyota 4Runner.

Here's what I did WITH it. Or is that what I did TO it? I'm not sure.

At least it lived a life. They should have kept the removable top. Just you watch, they will bring it back. Windshield folds now.
