  1. Getting Some Bed Back

Not many options if you want to keep the tonneau cover but if getting rid of it is an option, then there are several vertical mounting options including one from AEV. https://www.aev-conversions.com/product/vertical-tire-mount/
  2. Puget Sound Area Gladiators

Yeah... that section trails isn't even open until June 15th and we saw patches of left over ice and snow as late as October. Just in time for it to all start again !!
  3. Puget Sound Area Gladiators

There is one more stretch. I believe it's known as Hawkins Mountain Trail. Generally pretty easy although there is one very steep stretch that is usually rutted out and half destroyed by the SxS crowd. I've never had any issues but I can see that a stock non-rubicon might have problems with...
  4. Hood Ajar, Ambient Temperature not working

So turns out it was the BCM after all... $700 later, dealer programmed and swapped in the new BCM and all is good in the world again.
  5. Bead lock or not?

Hutchison claims they're deadlocks to be street legal. I love mine but they certainly aren't light at 35lbs per wheel. https://www.hutchinsoninc.com/rock-monster-internal-double-beadlock-system/ And yes... all beadlocks require more maintenance. I was checking the KMC XD231s on our JL...
  6. AEV Gladiator Build - Camp King Outback Camper / DCS Battery / Merlin Solar Panel

AEV makes a kit to relocate the camera. https://www.aev-conversions.com/product/front-camera-relocation-kit/
  7. Is there a better way? Family of 5 vs RTT / Annex / side rooms etc

The IronMan awnings/rooms only seem to be three sided. Roam makes rooms for their awnings but similar problem... four sides and a floor but not totally sealed at the top so issues with bugs. I have the annex for my Roam Vagabond and it does seal completely and has a floor .. but I get your...
  8. Adding Power Locks to a Sport - Success !

Do you have diagrams ?(!!!). .... Only ever been able to work it out based on the connectors. I've added the actuators and the wiring harness in the tailgate but I'm missing wiring somewhere. XY511A was my next place to look and trace from. Unfortunately, my Gladiator is in the shop...
  9. Puget Sound Area Gladiators

There is a forest road that runs most of the way which most of the big trucks take but the actual trail is only difficult unless it happens to be rutted out. The lake is a popular campsite in the summer so lots of traffic in the afternoons heading up the trail. The second segment is pretty...
  10. Puget Sound Area Gladiators

I'm interested depending on timing and certainly up for either a day run or something overnight. I haven't run Naches in a couple years but pin-striping would be the worse I'd expect based on running it in a JKU and only if the trails haven't been cleared. Some of the other stuff in that...
  11. Utilizing the fourth wire in the headlight connection on Gladiators that have it.

Fyi .. if anybody only has the three wires and is looking to add the fourth, the Mopar kit to do so is 68347117AB. Basically, its a short harness that you route through the firewall on the passenger side, push in pins 5 & 7 on BCM Connector C1 and then you have the two lengths of wire to reach...
  12. Adding Power Locks to a Sport - Success !

I can't tell you how happy I was to have the full harness already ... wonder when they started doing specific harnesses ? My 2020 Sport had the full harnesses to the doors so for me it really was just replacing the guts inside the doors. But, I don't seem to have all the wiring to the rear...
  13. Hood Ajar, Ambient Temperature not working

That seems to be the case. Definitely isn't tied to the two "input" grounds on the power side of the BCM. Yeah.. that's probably my last step before I break down and take the truck into the dealer and likely get the BCM replaced, which will lead to all sorts of nonsense with aftermarket...
  14. Hood Ajar, Ambient Temperature not working

As you suspected the "what" is the "sensor ground" wire. The "why" part still eludes me. From the hood switch side of things I'm seeing 14v (as expected) on the hood switch line but the sensor ground shows open. And I've tested both from the switch plug itself and from the connector to...
  15. LOD Destroyer Sliders Install/Review

Mine are about 5 1/2 inches from the step to the bottom of the door.
  16. LOD Destroyer Sliders Install/Review

Pro tip (credit goes to @Northridge4x4 for the suggestion) .... use a little silicone on the bolts before trying to get them into those backing plates... I've pulled mine a couple times while putting on some rocker armor and it's so much easier....
  17. Hood Ajar, Ambient Temperature not working

Good advice of course. I’m running down the hood sensor since it’s the easiest to debug. I’ve got a decent multimeter but it’s been years since I’ve had to debug auto wiring. Normally I just replace a harnesses and call it a day. And yes …. Building a full test harness has crossed my...
  18. Hood Ajar, Ambient Temperature not working

I pulled the plugs off the two hood switches and the temperature sensor ... good continuity between those three plugs and the XY103 plug. No sign of a short there. On the off chance it was the temperature sensor itself, Ieft that unplugged but the hood sensors are still throwing errors...
  19. Hood Ajar, Ambient Temperature not working

Yep... done that. No corrosion and the pins are well seated in the plugs. It's because it's those three wires that I've been looking under the dash as well since all three run to the C4/D connector. The Sensor Ground (Pin 5) is shared with the Hood Ajar Switch and the AAT which made it...
  20. Hood Ajar, Ambient Temperature not working

Oh you didn't come off as stirring the pot at all. And yes, that is what I've been doing with the multimeter. I hadn't considered a short so wasn't specifically looking for it. Will need to pull the plugs and start retesting. Getting at the C1/A and C4/D connectors at BCP is a pain in...
