Nice! The Wife and I are also doing the JT/JL thing. Both of us same wheels/tires, 2" Mopar lift and Fox 2.0 shocks. Hers: JLU/White, Mine: JT/Firecracker Red.
Awesome to see other couples doing this.
So very real. I have a 2020 JT and the wife has a new 2019 JL. We both have the exact same lift, tires & wheels, yet her JL seems to be 4" taller than my JT. On edit, we just measured: Hers: 76" tall, mine: 75" tall. Only an inch difference, but it sure looks bigger than my JT!
Keep this thread updated. I bought my JT for the wife, she decided she wanted a JL (Wrangler). I would NEVER have bought a red vehicle, but here's mine (red JT) sitting next to her white JL. Both 2" Mopar lift, 37" tires on after market wheels and FOX 2.0 shocks. Both with rock slider steps...
I've seen one or two of their vids, but frankly, I just don't spend much time crawling YouTube. Occasionally, I see a link to a vid and it takes me to another vid that looks interesting. The only real YouTube channel I follow is Winder Towing in Hurricane, Utah. That guy is interesting to watch...
When I finally mount mine up, it will likely be in the bed with a pneumatic valve accessible and more proximate to the ONLY reason to have on-board air: The Train Horn!
Thanks. Obviously watched the last video and at least the first 15 seconds (4 times), but never saw or heard anything about consistent issues. Saw one of your other videos on YouTube that I commented on last night about "10 things you hate about the JT" and most of those I would tend to agree...
I'm between 76-77" and fit in my parking garage just fine. My 37x12.5 R17 fits just fine in the spare position. Its snug, but it fits and I didn't have to air it down either.
I had a little scare over the weekend. Hauling a trailer with the JT up a fairly steep grade (Parleys Canyon toward Park City, Utah) with 8 bales of hay (80 pound bales) and about 90% to the top, the TrailCal flashed a cooling system warning at 218F. Flipped the gauge cluster over to coolant...
Looking for a clean method of mounting my MAXTRAX to the top of the tonneau cover nearer the back cab/glass. Ready to drill holes as necessary, but am wanting a clean and secure mounting solution. If you know of one before I start drilling, please do let me know.
@G8R, your definition of overlanding is obviously different than mine. My example would be to go mostly offroad Salt Lake City to Las Vegas, which I did in October. A Subaru would have never survived about 40% of that route.
Late December, a group of us circumnavigated nearly 100% of the Great...
I've kept 600 pounds of sand bags in the Dually for Utah WInter snow storms. So far, the JT has done quite well in snow without the need for extra weight in the bed.
As it relates to your "go be poor somewhere else", I have no context on that statement. My Ram 3500 Dually is 10 years old, paid...
