I have to say I’m super impressed how much a stock rubicon can do. The pictures of my turtled does no justice to the shelf I hung on.
The wranglers all handled it well, as did a stock Sasquatch. The long wheelbase and 33’s did me in. Winter lift will be welcomed!
Well, I went to do it at lunch, and storms threatened, so I just left the hardtop restign on the jeep. After work I started taking it off, and another storm hit, so I put the freedom panels back on, and finally a buddy came to help with the hard top removal. We pulled it off, put the belt trim...
Well, Tuesday I put the soft top on for the first time - took the hard top off and put the soft top on during a thunderstorm. I do not recommend. Today Toothgnasher got its name plates on.
Jesus, I don’t know why I put 4 foot. that should’ve been 4 inch lift. And yeah, I’d love to see a JLU on a 4 foot lift. It would look like a little matchbox monster truck.
Wednesday night, I ran a local trail with a friend who just finished installing a 4-foot lift on his JLU PHEV. Now he needs tires because the stock ones look like he's skipped leg day for a year.
Yup. I got a ticket for distracted driving for picking up my phone at a red light. Ironically I was muting it because a work incident was blowing up my notifications.
Took out my pressure washer and discovered a few o rings had given up the ghost. It also didn’t have enough power to blast the mud off from yesterday so a trip to the car wash did the deed. Afterwards the freedom panels came off for the weekend.
I’m guessing it’s the BCM like the dealer said. They can be finicky, and the halo likely doesn’t draw enough power to be switched with a relay. It could be powered directly from the bus.
Multi meter the output on the halo’s wire and see if it shows voltage. I doubt it, but there may be an...
Took Toothgnasher on another run today. Pretty sure the sliders got some work done. I don’t think anyone’s gone down this trail for a good while, maybe some quads or SxS.
Frame deep mud, and I had to take one bypass as I kept hanging on a slider and catching a lower arm. Oh, had to get winched...
MOLLE mounts for the front of the bed came in. I'm going to mount my traction boards across the bed using those—pictures to come after I install them tonight.
Took the top off for the first time since I bought it last month. I have to say, having helped a couple of friends with the tops for their JKs and JLs, this is stupid light, and easy to take off.
Lifted rigs sure make a stock Rubicon look small. :D
