  1. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

Glad to hear it worked out! I really want to put a blower on this thing one day but that really depends entirely on you and others working out all the kinks with the engine first!
  2. Mojave orange mods

That looks very close, good job! I expect a detailed write-up once you've finished the locker switches. ?
  3. MOJAVE Edition Gladiator JT Club

Good looking Jeep! Are you a barber by chance, or is Barber your last name?
  4. 392 Steering Wheel Retrofit

Unfortunately (but thankfully in your case) that’s a side effect of disconnecting the battery. It’ll go back to normal after a bit.
  5. Mojave orange mods

How close of a match did you get?
  6. Practical Truck for the Over Prepared Woman

Oh no! Good luck with the dealership. Fingers crossed for you.
  7. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

That's kinda what I figured. Sorry about the scope damage. Shouldn't be too hard to pull the valve cover for those of us without a blower on top.
  8. The good and the bad of a roots supercharger.

Dave, Ever have any more thoughts on how to check a motor for the wrong parts when it may not already be busted and require teardown, or is the best way to go just to pull it apart?
  9. Bed Chop??!!!

Looks like they made it shorter vertically too. I bet it’s going to look really awkward with the hard top removed as the body lines won’t match up.
  10. 392 Steering Wheel Retrofit

I ordered both of my covers from BAM.
  11. Diesel cooling options and ideas

Running the fan (and an electric coolant pump) after shutdown is common practice on many forced induction vehicles. Our last 5 turbo VWs did that from the factory when it was hot. A full speed run shouldn't be necessary as there's no longer any heat generation. I suggested it way back at the...
  12. Diesel cooling options and ideas

The heat soak issue while not towing is another situation entirely. That can probably be remedied by adjusting the cooldown timer on the fans, though this will of course require Jeep to modify the software. I definitely agree that it sucks this is a conversation topic, but that's the...
  13. Diesel cooling options and ideas

The problem you're going to find with a complaint is that it's operating to specs. The SAE J2807 towing tests states that the vehicle only has to make it to the top of the grade at 40 mph. If it's doing that then it meets the advertised requirement. The test also specifies that there *cannot* be...
  14. 392 Steering Wheel Retrofit

I posted some pictures somewhere in the thread, but it's not very difficult to figure it out. Put the switch in place and squeeze it there for a few seconds and it should leave some marks. start shaving a little bit at a time (it really doesn't take much) and repeating until it sits how you want it.
  15. Practical Truck for the Over Prepared Woman

Not much will stop a hydraulic ram. Get a wheel wedged hard against something and it'll rip the wheel off if you try to force it to turn.
  16. Airlift airbags and teraflex 1.5 leveling kit.

He’s saying the same thing. You should set up your hitch so the front is the same as it is when unloaded.
  17. Sway control

Goodyear Endurance are excellent tires. My new TT has them, as did my last two. Interestingly they are becoming more common and cheaper than a lot of the previously common Chinese brands as the Endurance is made in the US and is readily available while the Chinese tires are all delayed due to...
  18. Sway control

Ignoring any sway control concerns, one of the biggest reasons for WDH is to get weight back on the front axle so you have steering control. Jeeps (and other sold axle vehicles) already tend to have slightly flighty steering so they can be greatly affected by reduced weight. When using a WDH...
  19. Sway control

I had similar thoughts when we were looking at Opus and similar trailers. Some of them push the weight further back to help with the tongue weight, but that makes the trailer inherently much less stable. Unfortunately with a revolver hitch there’s just no good solution for a heavy trailer. I...
