Is this ACC or normal cruise???
It matters, as normal cruise has zero sensors.
However, if it's ACC, that's another animal.
Canceled is as if the brake pedal was depressed or you hit cancel on the steering wheel.
Look those directions.
Has anything been apart where the steering wheel may have been turned with things disconnected, leading to clock spring issues?

And if that's the ESS light, yes, look for battery/voltage issues for sure.
The thing will go into self-preservation mode and kill non-essential things like cruise, ESS and so on to stay alive. But where that light is, and how it looks to me, that's not ESS related, it's cruise control by itself.

Technically speaking, you should have the camara/radar realigned after a lift or level. Even a lift can throw things off, and leveling even more-so.
There are specs used and if the measurement from frame to ground is outside of that spec, that number has to be plugged in and the system realigned.
If ACC and FCW act strange after a lift or level, don't blame jeep!
wo.
Not ACC, i don’t have that installed on my jeep. It doesn’t act like it was cancelled because i pressed the brakes or turned it off vis the CC button. It kicks me out like theres some issue. Steering wheel hasn’t been taken apart before but i’m leaning towards the issue being in there because the lights on the steering wheel for the buttons have flickered a few times

Ok, you are eyes on it, so I will defer to what you see.

Just the owners manual shows the Start/Stop warning light to not be enclosed on the bottom like your picture shows. May also be different since you have the base cluster.

A better picture would be needed - but if he says it looks like a speedometer, it would be the lower.
The pic is really hard to tell for sure - it does look open on the bottom.
But only he can actually see it unless a clear picture is obtained.
He can use your perfect example and compare next time - knowing exactly what to look for and the difference between the two.

If it's the upper -it's going into self-preservation mode due to voltage issues.
If it's the lower - it's then a cruise issue - but if he's not using ACC, if it's standard cruise, there's no sensors involved, only the brake pedal "switch", clock spring and steering wheel buttons, otherwise, the cruise exists in the PCM if I recall.

Yeah it’s definitely that second light at the bottom. Haven’t had any problems with the start stop at all

It's no unheard of to have issues there at the steering wheel - and the clock spring can cause issues even if it's not been apart before. it's still got to keep electrical contact as the steering wheel moves.
Flickering lights - hmmmmmm...... the more information you provide, the easier it is to solve the puzzle.

Starting to sound like the clock spring cable assembly

I would imagine if you have a fault light, there's a decent chance there's some kind of code somewhere that would help narrow things down. Have you tried using a better code reader that a shop might have to confirm? Sometimes the basic home-use readers can't get everything a more professional one can.

If you don't see Boo-Boo it's all good. He never gets into trouble unless Boo-Boo is around.
Right now, Tyler is the only one seeing a Boo-Boo.

I REALLY wish some of these were closer - I'd toss on AlfaOBD or similar and catch what exactly cancelled cruise.

Heck, I can't do any heavy work, lifting or real wrenching for another 3 to 4 weeks, this would be fun and something better to do.

Thanks I’ll add the clock spring to the list of things to check. I saw on the JL forum someone mentioned they fixed their steering wheel light flickering from one of the harnesses being a little loose

Had the clock spring in my Power Wagon go bad. It lit up my air bag light. All of your steering wheel controls go through the clock spring. It's not an uncommon problem.

OP did you ever resolve the issue? If so what was it?

I have a 2021 Sport S with the standard cruise control and mine is starting to do the same thing. My clock spring squeaks when it's cold outside and doesn't when it's warm. I'm starting to wonder if that is my problem but would like to understand what the fix was for you?

Thanks

I’ve had my ACC cancel for about six months. At first it would be infrequent, maybe once every few hours on a long trip. The time between cancellations slowly decreased to the point both ACC and normal cruise control became unusable, sometime clicking off after 30 minutes then every few minutes.

Took it to the dealer and they say it is the cruise control switch. I hope they are correct.
