I am planning a road trip out west for the summer in my 2021 JTR. I am running stock wheels and tires with no lift. I do have a winch and an air compressor on board.
Currently I am looking at running a few badge of honor trails, Fins and Things and Hells revenge.
Are there any other trails I should be looking at running?
Thanks in Advance

I make people bigger brighter and louder
Im also going to Moab this summer for the first time. I one trail were looking at was "chicken corners" I don't think it was a difficult trail, but there is a spot there that leans a little towards a cliff. Very scenic.

Im hoping to get to do poison spyder and hells revenge when I go out there, but im also running 37s, and 2 inch lift. My plans are not set in stone so I might change what I do out there.

I did poison spider with our bone stock rubicon with no issues. You’ll scratch your factory skids and need to choose the right lines, but it’s totally doable. I’ve since been on that with stock Willy’s and Mohaves as well. You’ll be fine. Have a blast. Top of the world is doable stock as well. You just need a hood spotter and to choose the right lines. Beautiful trail. I’m not making these claims without first hand experience with rigs with less capability than yours. I promise it’s ok. As long as you’re ok with undercarriage scratches on the skids.

A hitch skid is an absolute must. I highly recommend the Warfab Sheridan, as it’s all but bulletproof.

@Summitdan knows his stuff!!

I’ll be heading out to Moab in July and doing Top of the World and White Rim (and hopefully hells Revenge) but the first two are the only ones set in stone.

After speaking with SummitDan and watching COUNTLESS videos (the most recent ones being 4Runners descending TOTW), I’m confident I can get up with my stock-ish Mojave (running 35s).

I did end up buying a front diff skid plate and engine/trans skid plate but more for piece of mind. I’ll still be taking the easy/easier lines.

Super stoked!!

You’ll kill it. TOTW is harder than hells revenge and poison spider. I haven’t done white rim, except the tiny piece that intersects with Schaefer trail. But you’ll definitely be fine in a Mohave on 35’s. @darksidedesign had no problems in his Mohave on 33’s at the time. Just figure out your lines. Great trail.

If you’d like to see how a gladiator handles some of the more well-known trails in Moab, check out my YouTube channel.

I threw a couple videos up there real quick, just for my dad to watch. Nothing fancy.

The ones on there right now are from this May, when the Gladiator has a small, 2 inch lift and 35s. I’ll dig up some of my videos from previous years when it was not lifted so you can get an idea of what it looks like also.

White Rim is basically nothing. I've only done it on a bicycle; my girlfriend drove the support vehicle (long wheelbase Tacoma on 32 ATs, few mods) and had nothing at all to report about the driving

Gorgeous place to see, camp, and hang out but not "wheeling" per se

Thanks for the input I have gotten a hitch skid from AJK. The main thing for me is I am still a bit of a novice off roader and have to drive home pulling a trailer. I did the Jeep Adventure Academy in Uwharrie and had a blast while also getting to know my rig more. From YouTube research I dont think I am going to do poison spider this trip as there is not enough time on my trip.
Have you done the trails in Arches National Park?

I’ve done Uwharrie. It’s no joke. Lots of fun but can get spicy really quick. Moab is almost the same.

As SummitDan said, pick the right lines and you’ll be fine.

I returned from my 10 day trip in Moab this past Saturday. I ran 8 trails including 8 badge trails. I run 37" KO2's with 1 1/2" front, 3/4" rear spacers and full skid plates. I am still working on getting my pics and report up for all.

You will be able to handle fins and things and hell's revenge. Coming down the right side of Top of the World was challenging but no issues except my wife's anxiety. Potash and Schafer switchbacks was an easy day.

Some trails that I did that were novice friendly, my daughter drove, that were still fun with awesome scenery were Courthouse Rock, Tusher Tunnel, Mill Canyon (all 3 close to each other) and Onion Creek.

Elephant Hill is a bit of a drive south but was super fun and we met a newer stock 4dr Tacoma coming up the switchbacks at the start so it is doable stock.

I had reservations for two nights camping on the White Rim but the Green River flooded the eastern side and couldn't access Labyrinth campground or do a complete loop so I changed plans. FYI - as of today it is still impassable at Upheaval Wash:

White Rim Road impassable at Upheaval Wash due to Green River flooding
Alert 1, Severity danger, White Rim Road impassable at Upheaval Wash due to Green River flooding
White Rim Road is flooded at Upheaval Wash due to river flows above 18,000 cfs. Vehicles are at risk of getting stuck. High river flows could continue through early June. Check current conditions, bring extra fuel, and be prepared to turn around.

Two things:
https://www.rr4w.com/ratings.cfm

https://www.rr4w.com/trails.cfm pool

The red rock 4 wheelers develop and share great stuff about Moab wheeling. I’ve found them to be the most reliable source of info about Moab.

I‘be done some of their 4 rated trails and found them to be very challenging. There is more risk than just scratching you skid plates. IMHO, if you have a stock Jeep, the best way to do trails like Fins n’ Things and Top of the World is in a rental Jeep. Traveling with friends who can spot you in the hard spots, help you recover if you get stuck, or take you back to the world if your Jeep breaks, is highly recommended.

I have done a bunch of trails in arches. Beautiful, and are a great place to start. The one to tower arch is great.
