I doubt the JT will beat it, but thats due to it being more off-road focused. I bet its closer to the Raptor Ranger.

I was gonna say the same. A Ranger Raptor will not be a towing rig per se.

The Raptor Ranger had the potential to be cool, to bad it will only have one engine option and it will not have a manual tranny. I row my own gears! Oh plus no open top.

Seems like Ranger is meant to be a cross between a Tacoma and a Ridgeline where the JT is going to be an obvious cross between a Jeep and a Tacoma. Both should improve the mid-size class with their respective offerings. Those that want better fuel economy, payload, towing, ride, and active/passive safety technology will learn towards the Ranger and those wanting an open top, little bit bigger back seat, off-road capability, and diesel option will go with the JT IMO

I personally have zero interest in the regular Ranger, the only one I would consider is the Raptor version if/when its available in the U.S.

As much as I love the F150 raptor, it's just too big. But then from what I've seen of the Ranger Raptor, I just have NO confidence it'll be as quality as the F150 or the JT.

sorry Billy but we have rangers down here & i will agree that the f150 is a better quality vehicle but its definitely not lower quality than a jeep they were our top selling 4x4 last year

If the Raptor Ranger comes to the US it wont be made in overseas it will be made here or Mexico, but I expect quality to be comparable to any other Ford sold in the U.S.

Do we have any idea if it will be body on frame? Or if the Ifis A arms will be stout forgings or tubular weldments? I still strongly doubt it'll come close to what the F150 Raptor or the JT is/will be.

Its body on frame like all the Rangers and uses a Watts rear suspension (basically a 4-link rear). Its IFS up front, and has Fox 2.5" shocks all around.

Ford said:
The unique Ranger Raptor ladder frame chassis was reengineered and strengthened with High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) steel to meet the tough demands that off road performance driving commands. Tested extensively in the harshest desert environments in both Australia and the USA, the Ranger Raptor chassis delivers maximum toughness and high-spec performance.

This might be like eating vegetables when I was a kid. I'm not going to like getting a Ranger Raptor but it might be the best thing for me. I hope I'm wrong and I can just have my meal of ice cream.

Thats how I feel. I drove a Ranger in high school so it would feel weird to be driving one as an adult, although a Raptor Ranger would be a different animal.

It would kill me, or at least my spirit, to not have a Jeep with a removable top. And it's off road capabilities. It's killing me now, driving my WK "country club" Jeep.
