I have a 26 foot travel trailer, dry weight of 4196, gvwr of 6000. The Jeep Gladiator I'm looking at buying is a 2020 Sport S with tow package. The dealer is telling me that the tow capacity is 6000. Does anyone have experience towing with this year and trim of Gladiator? I need some advice on towing with this truck. Everything that I find is that it should be able to tow it but need some help.

I added Redarc tow brake and pull 14" 2200# dry Aljo single axle Camping trailer. Prob close to 3000# loaded. I use weight distribution hitch and mechanical sway control . The 8 speed is awesome! hardly know it is back there! Previously towed with 2008 Liberty, same motor but 4 speed auto. It did the job but a really different experience. 2020 Sport S w Tow pkg. (not max tow)

I pull a 27', 5,100 lb (with all we want or need) travel trailer with my Overland (ordered 5/19, delivered 7/19).

I have the BlueOx weight distribution hitch set up and the Tenkonsha Primus IQ10 brake controller. The BlueOx also does a great job with sway control. I get passed by a Semi, and there is little to no sway from the wind blast coming off the truck.

My Gladiator handles it with ease. I shift manually and on the interstate, I almost never see 8th. I typically run at no more than 65 MPH in 7th at around 2,100 PRMs. Temps, even when it's over 95 degrees out stays below 220 degrees. When running, going up a grade, when I get below 59 MPH, I drop a gear, and can typically stay in 6th until I either get back to 65 MPH or I've crested the top of the grade. I typically get between 12 and 13 MPGs while towing.

You'll have no problems. Drive your own drive and the hell with others who think you're going too slow for them. Enjoy!!!

Here's my set up. More than enough room for just me and the Bride :) :) :)

Don't trust the dealer. Get the vin and look up the window sticker. Free online. Just to make sure it is not a Max Tow package which can add another 1600 lbs to that 6K tow rating stay are quoting. Can't hurt to be aware. Did they tell you gear ratios for rears?? Again, look up the window sticker for free.
