Seen a article on apple news this morning from “AutoBlog” stating that the Bronco line will be its own sub brand under the Ford umbrella. Sort of like Jeep being a sub brand within FCA. Funny note I read was them talking about Ford already scheduling 4 “Off-Roadeos” for bronco owners of all experience levels to get together and learn more about their vehicles and safe off-roading together..... sounds kinda like a “Jeep Jamboree“ to me. lol

actually pretty interested in this. We love my wife's grand cherokee but she had an old school bronco as her first car. Would be cool to have it again.

Everything is pointing to be segmented as a direct competitor to the Wrangler so I'd expect similar list prices and similar discounts down the road.

As was said above, "Bronco" will be a sub-brand much like Ram and Jeep are to FCA so I wouldn't be surprised if you get the Bronco 2dr and 4dr as JL and JLU competitors and the "Sport" aimed more at the Grand Cherokee market.

Agreed but from what I’ve seen it looks like the bronco sport is closer to the size of the renegade. At least that’s what I thought of when I seen the spy shots/renderings.
Met a few people (younger generation and older women) who love their renegades for the easy city maneuverability, mileage, and go anywhere abilities. Seen one at a Jamboree (lower group) and guys in that group joked that her renegade did better than some of the JK’s. Wheels at the corners like a side by side made it tough to stop. Lol

Full disclosure...I own a Gladiator and also have a Mustang Mach E GT on order. I like to push the limits. If I had any brand loyalty it is with Jeep and Ford. My third vehicle is a Lincoln.

I do think the Bronco will blow the doors off the Wrangler platform as the power plant offerings will be MUCH better. Expect to see much higher MPG rating too. I see the Bronco of a true modern day platform of what the Wrangler could have become while the Wranglers success has been mostly that it has been stuck in the past...it’s also the biggest reason why resale has been so great.

Jeep will be and should be concerned about the Bronco Just like Tesla should be worried about the Mach E.

That's probably more likely. I look at the trio profile shot they recently released and I still can't get the old bronco out of my head. 25 years ago, the third one would be GC sized compared to the full-size bronco... what they're creating is basically a Bronco 1.5 right between the original and the Bronco II in dimensions.

Given that the Wrangler is a shell of its former self and is now a lifestyle vehicle priced the same as other SUVs... yes, it has a lot to fear from the Bronco. People don't buy the Wrangler to off-road at a near $30k starting price. Meanwhile, the IFS will ride better, likely still fit the 35's everyone runs on their JLU, and the turbo engine will have gobs more power with a proven powerplant.

The Bronco will be the new thing so it's going to be massively popular. It's absolutely going to eat into Wrangler sales because like the Wrangler, the majority of owners aren't buying it to be an off-road vehicle.

I will say that in my observation, Jeep will have to up its game some more.... From what I know already, it’s enough to sell me on the Bronco when my lease is up on the Gladiator. And that’s coming from a near 20 year Jeep owner...

Agreed. This is great. Jeep should be very nervous right now.

The idea behind the Bronco began with Ford product manager Donald N. Frey in the early 1960s (who also conceived the Ford Mustang) and engineered by Ford engineer Paul G. Axelrad, with Lee Iacocca approving the final model for production in February 1964, after the first clay models were built in mid-1963. Developed as an off-road vehicle (ORV), the Bronco was intended as a competitor for the Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout.
