After they get it "fixed" this time, immediately trade it.
Trade it? Are you insane.

He should go buy an Acura after the way that dealer has treated him.

I worked as a service writer and a tech. You never let a vehicle sit like that. Especially if it needed some thing as simple as a fuel pump. And if you couldn't get a fuel pump to fix the car you did everything else that you could to minimize the pain. Like a good loaner.

I discovered early on that if someone got a loaner that was similar to and as nice as their car, they would wait a long time. Since they were driving a nice car and putting miles on it rathe than their own car, they were happy.

The dealer did nothing to help him. Jeep did nothing to help him.
They don't deserve a repeat purchase.

Sounds like something other than diesel fuel was put in your fuel tank
the gas caps are not locked and anyone can put something in there.
Lets pretend that actually happened. Though it sounds ridiculous to me.

Everything after that is absolutely inexcusable. There is no excuse for making the OP wait so long. And to not offer a loaner is even worse. Then it breaks again in 140 miles??

The flat rate system at its finest.

There is never time to do it right, but always time to do it over.

I didn't say where to trade it or what to trade it for. That's just what I would do. As far as I know it's fixed and I have a clear conscience.

Hi to everyone, I am new here and I am here to write to you about my experience with a 2021 Jeep Gladiator, hopefully my experience will help someone save their time and money.

so here it is, I bought a 2021 Gladiator Ecodiesel, I bought it for my wife, she loved it, well, we had some small issues from day 3, but those small set backs are nothing compared to the issue at hand,
we managed to put on 4882 miles and had a major breakdown, the Jeep died on the freeway with no warning, the vehicle gets towed to the dealer, the truck sat at the dealer for over 40 days before they started to work on it and that was not till after we contacted an attorney, it turns out, the fuel pump went out, taking him it, the entire fuel system, everything had to be replaced, fuel pump, tank, lines, injectors, some sensors etc etc,

After day 54, the jeep gets fixed and we managed to drive it a whole 140 miles before the check engine light came on and the truck started running rough. Once the truck was back at the dealer, it was diagnose with a P026D code or something like that, the dealer "fixed again", we drove it less than 1000 miles, and the light is on again, not doing the regent properly and its running rough again, that will sum up to be about 65 days at the dealer out of a total of 5 months we have owned this truck, all this time, no loaner, no rental, and the service writer at the dealer suggested to hand me a "box of matches" , the same service writer got mad when I submited all of my info for a claim including his "box of matches" joke, he suggested for me not to fill out the survey because it will look the dealer and the manufacturer bad, please people becareful what you buy, all the good talk about warranty and customer service goes out the door once you sign the bank deal,

I forgot to mention it is also not charging now,
Bummer that sucks! I have 3 21 ecodiesels with a total of 45k miles not 1 issue all run good no problems i wish you luck or maybe change the service department your using. Don't give up they are great units

Well now I can add to my problems. Took delivery of ordered JTRD mid April 2021. Here we are Jan and besides ALL of the problems I still have since the major breakdown at 8K miles, now both of my batteries are dead, won't keep a charge and none of the climate controls work, fan doesn't work, temp control doesn't work, blend doors are stuck on dash vents, heat is stuck on high and the faster I drive the more the heat comes out the vents. Start/Stop system doesn't work and says need serviced. Engine light comes on then goes off, getting charging system errors and throttle control issues that both come and go. I have a full page of issues, that I am demanding be fixed, just waiting for a loaner or rental car to come available.

Here is the fun part, I go out to start the Jeep, it tries to turn then my windshield wipers come on, the daytime driving LEDs come on, turn signals and tail lights flash and the start button remains in the run position, will not go to stop so the batteries continue to discharge more. Trying to put a changer on it makes it worse, now the headlights start blinking. Had to call AAA three times this week, dealer says needs to have the Jeep for 2 days to verify batteries are defective but on loaner or rental cars available. Thinking about just replacing at my cost with quality aftermarket batteries but NOT Optima which are CRAP.
I think you got a bad one...im on 25,000 miles no problems at all my sons on 16,000 no problems my wife has 8900 on hers no problems we love the diesel for the reliability my wife 21 gasser was at the shop 4 or 5 tome the first 2 months so we trade for a 21 Jlur diesel she loves it! Good luck getting it fixed

I’m having the exact issue. Dealer is refusing to cover blaming bad fuel. Anyone have success getting it covered under warranty?

Yes. At 4581 miles my fuel pump went out. Catastrophically failed. Got Jeep Cares involved. Had it towed to the dealership. They tore it apart. Found metal shavings in the screen from the pump. Not a really good picture. Waited on parts for 45 days. Had a rental Gladiator from Enterprise. Got it back also had the RR axle seal leak that was also fixed under warranty. I suggest you call Jeep Cares

thank you. for those that replied, indeed a Lemon law suit is on the works, I offered Jeep to buy it back and they refused even as the jeep sat at the dealer for those many days in a row, I am going to vynil wrap the Gladiator with a "very special I am a lemon wrap" going to drive it around like that and maybe if it becomes viral they will listen easier, will keep you guys posted, as for selling it as someone mentioned, its hard to sell a 2021 Rubicon with Lift and 37s from the dealer at a price where I wont loose an arm and a leg
Try selling it to a non Jeep dealer. As a dealer and a Gladiator owner the national market report on a 21 Gladiator Rubicon is more then window sticker at the moment.......just a thought

I'm curious as to all the owners with problems, how many diesels have you owned? My 21 built in early May has 19,000+ miles without any trouble. I've had diesels since 93 Ford and GM.

Update. Safeco sent out an inspector. 2-3 weeks later results are in. Fuel is clean after filter. Total mechanical failure of pump. Sent 68 page report to dealer. Will repair under warranty or eat cost. Problem solved.
My advice. Get your insurance company involved day one.

I too am having issues with my 2021 Gladiator Ecodiesel. I have had nothing but diesels since 1998: VW(3), GMC Duramax, Ford Powerstroke 7.3(2), Audi Q7(2), Ram Cummins 6.4, and now this Ecodiesel.

I have not had any issues with any previous diesel.

I was driving down the intestate towing a small single axle utility trailer that was empty. Check engine light comes on and lose power immediately; no response to throttle. I pull over, but before I can come to a complete stop the transmission throws itself into park and engine dies. I try to restart, but jeep starts shaking violently like it is trying to start with transmission still in gear. Hitting the start button again does nothing and jeep is still trying to start, shaking violently. Left side of trailer is still in the right lane and here come the semis. I am praying that one doesn't hit the trailer. So I want to put in neutral to push my gladiator more so the trailer will be out of the lane. Wont go in neutral. I google the issue and discover you have to remove a cover and pull a cord to manually put the transmission in neutral. In the meantime more semis are passing awfully close. Transmission shifter is electronic. You could have buttons, rotary knob, toggle switch, etc, the shifter is just for looks. Not being able to shift into neutral seems like a safety issue. In my panic i did not think to shift the transfer case into neutral.

Finally moved it well over to the side i call for a tow truck and was told it would be 1.5 hours. Just crazy. I am afraid to hit the start button again. So, now I have plenty of time to google the issue. Warning on the dash states: Service electronic throttle. Could not find much. Now 45 minutes later I thought to try starting again. Fires right up and idles smoothly. I release the cord for neutral and put it in gear, still all ok. I am 2 miles from an exit so drive with flashers on in emergency lane keeping speed below 45. I finally get home.....time to change the underwear!!

Dealer says they can't get me in for a month. What?? They said I can just drop it off there until they can get to it. I need to tow trailers for a living(not heavy)and they won't give a loaner until it has been diagnosed . My bicycle won't tow trailers. So, what to do. I keep driving without trailers, all is fine. Check engine resets after so many cycles and no more issues...... until, I tow another trailer, 5x8 enclosed with just a mattress in it. Very light. Pull over again well off the road. Wait 5 minutes and restart and drive slower to my destination. I was towing both times with cruise control on and now don't use cruise while towing.

Finally get it in to the dealer, they have it back out in 15 minutes. they said they just needed to flash the computer. Had to wait a dang month for that?!?! I wish the Jeep had a reset button!!

Been towing fine for a few months even with a 6000 lb trailer and then the same warning comes back on, this time not towing at all, just waiting in line to drop of may son at school. It still drives, but with limited power. I am afraid to tow at this point. Dealer appointment....1.5 months away!!

I call Chrysler to tell them of the issue and they say they are affected by Covid. Dealer has one Diesel tech. Chrysler says call another dealer. I do that and they say they are not taking any new customers. I can't get a loaner and (previously when I had my Ram Cummins) when I do they give some little car. I tell them I need a truck because I need to tow trailers and they say not their issue. Now I can't work.

Just on a side note....My wife's Audi Q7 diesel is a freight train....amazing. It will out tow my gladiator. when we take the Audi in for service, they give us an identical loaner and offer us a cappuccino. The Audi cost us less than the Gladiator. So, how can Audi provide that level of service, but Jeep can't?????

Hoping this next time the gladiator will be fixed. I love driving it, I love the diesel, but don't like the repeating issue. Ecodiesel has been in Chrysler products for many years, they should be able to handle any issues. In Europe that engine is in delivery trucks and maseratis.....millions of miles....there should be a solution.

I think I will call Jeep Cares as others have said and see how they can help me.
