Anyone wanna lose more weight? By installing a light weight Lithium battery?

Look what showed up:

This will be interesting to see. So if you got a lithium charger how is it going to charge when driving?

It doesn't
The Jeep charges the battery from now on
Unless
I
Do
something
stupid
such as leaving the lights/key/winch/ovhd light on and I discharge the battery to where it cannot crank the vehicle.
Then
and
only
then
I'll hook up the charger and bring life back to the dead lithium soldier.

Yea, I don't know, yet if it will work, but Braille says it will, and I am going to find out along with all of you! ;-)

Nice. Looking forward to your long term results on this battery, especially how it does in the colder months. I have a Lithium in my motorcycle, but as soon as it's below 50 on a regular basis the battery gets pulled and the bike goes into storage for the winter.
Copy that
This is an "educated experiment" where I think I have done my homework
and
I think I have picked the best company out there.
Right now we'll look at the installation, then get regular reports on it, including that winching torture test. Then say, around this time next year, I could be as bold as to say I actually know something about this emerging technology based on real-life experience. Until then I am an actively engaged observer, the same as everyone else.

So how does that company say their lithium batteries can be charged from a AGM programed system?

I am curious to see how it works but have some suspicions. But I wonder if they have some internal charge controller or something.

I believe they are using your "Door number 2" option. Some internal wizardry to make a standard charging system work for the Lithium profile.
But, don't hold me to that.
But let me see if I can get one of their engineers to come over and talk about it. I am dealing directly with their global marketing director. He can point me to the right person. I'll commit to getting a good answer to this important question.

The F34 Braille shipped to me has the posts reversed and on the opposite side of the battery.

Not in the H7 configuration, but that's OK.

I did take a look to see if everything fit and discovered the factory JT stuff will not physically fit:

(That's a risky positive connection fitted to a negative battery post, without the other post fitted...Or I would been blown up for the second time in my life!)

Flipping the battery around gets the polarity in physical alignment:

But, nothing will bolt up using the factory configuration, so it was time to change things up some

The brass posts unscrew from the battery...

Once I did that, I removed the battery post fixtures from the factory cable assemblies

I then weighed those parts which I would not be using

Not too much, but that loss offset the weight of the two 12" cables I had to use to complete the connection

I simply purchased two 12" terminaled cables and connected the respective post to the factory cable, attaching to an original stud...Easy-peasy.

Zip-tied the cables securely into place, cleaned the operation up and placed the 5 horsepower Braille decal onto the fuse panel lid.

All done!

Yup, those wheels work great.

But Tate emailed me and said "I know AEV sold the thing with 37s and 4.56 gears, but I think it's way under-geared and it needs 5.13's

Man, I wish he wouldn't do that!

Well, I decided I ought to just supercharge it, but quickly found out I had the GEPC-5 computer and I could not install a SC. But I could install some Ripp ignition coils...So I did

While I was at it, I cut away all those ugly sound chambers from the intake tube, which made that engine sound pretty cool.

Someone may have already asked this later in this thread... but which Ripp coils did you use? On their website, they don't appear to produce them for the JL/JT 3.6L. Thanks.

So, if the truth be known, I did all this yestertag.

Today I drove the Jeep all over while using all sorts of onboard electrical devices. I cold-started it a bunch of times. I drove on the highway, on slow winding country roads, and even in the dirt.

At no time did anything behave any differently than it ever has before. The installation is clean and to my reckoning, so far is a winner.

I will go out on a limb a bit and say, I think the Jeep is feeling like it has more acceleration. Not to do with the battery, but more due to the fact that I have removed nearly 250 pounds of weight from it so far. I am simply pushing one Samoan less than I was before.
