Today got a lot busier than I had expected. Consequently, I did not go for the start, but instead finished the air intake system.

I needed a 3.5 or a 3.75" 90-degree coupler and a little fab work to complete the system. I found them listed in various places, from $84 down to $18. I opted for the inexpensive part and was surprised to receive a high-quality silicone-layered part.

To complete the assembly, I sectioned the preexisting Flowmaster part with a chop saw, capturing the original boss and vent nipple. How cool is that!

Before assembling the parts for the record, I did some air filter maintenance, washing it with hot soapy water, blowing it dry then recoated it with fresh oil.

With the air box lid cleaned and reinstalled, I am completely finished with this phase of the installation.
The last thing to do is to reflash the ECM and start it up.

I wish you had a Draggy and could do pre/post charger install 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.
Can’t wait for a drivability review, best of luck!

When you get it going, I am interested in how it affects the transmission shift points. Mine already does not want to shift into a higher gear when going up a hill. I have to manually shift going up long hills.

Hmmm, let me think about it. This thread I find really interesting, or the 392, Payload, & MPG bitch sessions? Tough choice.

OK, folks, well, there is a bit more to this story than I anticipated.

I started the day by charging my tablet and plugging in the JT's battery charger. There are enough warnings about having sufficient battery voltage to avoid catastrophe that I even noticed it!
Following that, I had to download another HP Tuners file transfer app. Check, got that done.
Both the tablet and vehicle batteries were fully charged. I started with the MPVI4 HP Tuner device, which plugs into the OBD port.
There was a fairly lengthy procedure to initialize and update that
I would note that this procedure requires a wireless internet connection. preferably strong. Mine was only one bar (weak).
With all that done, you have to read the vehicle's files, and that is where I got jammed up. I was able to connect to the module via Bluetooth every time and request the vehicle files, but after many attempts, I was never able to read anything.
So, back to the instructions. I see a note about a security module. Having used Alpha OBD on my Ram truck, I am keenly aware of the need to bypass the security module.
I am not sure, but it seems likely that I simply did not receive the bypass apparatus and therefore, cannot communicate with the ECM. Stellantis does this so that someone with a laptop, standing at an intersection, cannot just reprogram your vehicle while you're looking at the pretty girl crossing the walkway.
So there's that. I am at a stopping point with the HELP email already sitting in the Ripp inbox.
But the procedure is not as simple as just downloading a new tune and happily motoring away.
Nossir
You have to read the stock vehicle files, then, through the magic of that tune transport app, send them to Ripp. They will then modify them to work with the SC and send them back to you. Only then can you download them into the Jeep and go tear up a mountainside somewhere.
Ya...Think this is easy, think again!
