I’m torn on the return.
If you can say for sure that it is not functional, then you should definitely get something back. But if it works as intended, they have already gone above and beyond. They really shouldn’t have to refund money if the reason is that you don’t like the sound.
especially since they replacement one they provided sounds just like the original. Did they ever advise if something was actually wrong with the first unit?
As far as I know, the return unit was fine. I examined it before shipping and they never shared any post-return findings. There is a mention of a sound difference between the "Heritage gearset" and some other option. No discussion, such as "one will sound like marbles inside a dryer," so the buyer (me) is unaware of anything other than the strong marketing that represents these Ripp superchargers as excellent choices for power upgrades.

Yeah, I'd start the discussion with them. I like your idea of a possible partial refund but only if they said the sound is normal. If it wasn't normal sounding then a full refund should be in the cards. Now what a properly sounding supercharger sounds like....only ones I've heard are from Youtube videos of a Hellcat (which sounds glorious) or the old Mad Max movie (again, sounds like a fine tuned rip snorting machine).

Arrangements made, they are picking up the JT on Monday to start the Hemi swap!
I suppose I should wash it first and take my guns out of it...Or should I? ;-)

You could mess with em and take all the firing pins out first. My bet is any worthwhile shop that finds them will call and tell you to come back and get em out of the vehicle. They don’t want the liability if they get stolen.

Folks,

I was just kidding about leaving the guns in the Jeep.

That shop probably has a bunch of their own, and mine might get mixed up and lost in the "gun-clutter."! ;-)

Oh, and yes, I am going to clean it perfectly before they come to pick it up.

That definitely sounds terrible, what’s the time duration of the swap?

Yeah, does sound like a washing machine. They should be embarrassed by that and refund you fully.

My washing machine sounds a heck of a lot better than that. I dont blame you for going a different route. That would annoy me to no end. The clickety-clack of a P-Pump I can take. That’s a little much for me.

They said they could do it in a little over a week, but I told them they could go slowly. I want detailed information, and I expect they will do the swap on their timeline. Frankly, if it takes a month, I wouldn't care.

Ripp is being very nice about it, but nothing decided with respect to any sort of a refund.

question about the front bumper:

Does it look right in natural aluminum, matching the beadlock rim, or should I paint it black to match the grill?
