As far as I know, the return unit was fine. I examined it before shipping and they never shared any post-return findings. There is a mention of a sound difference between the "Heritage gearset" and some other option. No discussion, such as "one will sound like marbles inside a dryer," so the buyer (me) is unaware of anything other than the strong marketing that represents these Ripp superchargers as excellent choices for power upgrades.I’m torn on the return.
If you can say for sure that it is not functional, then you should definitely get something back. But if it works as intended, they have already gone above and beyond. They really shouldn’t have to refund money if the reason is that you don’t like the sound.
especially since they replacement one they provided sounds just like the original. Did they ever advise if something was actually wrong with the first unit?
