@Flyin6 RESIST THE TEMPTATION!!!!!! You absolutely do NOT need an Atlas 4 Speed transfer case with all its newfangled shifters and super low gearing!!!!

( @Jteakus You hit im with the suggestion and I’ll handle the reverse psychology. He’ll be crawling vertical tall buildings in no time. :like:)
I see what you're doing here... ;-)

On a serious note, you really can’t go wrong with an Atlas though. Having used their product in the past it is superior to the Mopar product, in my opinion. They engage cleanly and easily and I never had it pop out once it was broken in and adjusted correctly. It gave me confidence in the gear to do some harder obstacles that I may have bowed out of if it wasn’t installed. If I eventually have the cash and opportunity I will seriously consider running a 2 speed from them again.

I didn't realize you were using the Rubi case, good call.
Atlas is on my short list for future mods. The front dig would really help get this long rig through the tight trails.

Curious to the explanation of why the two-piece driveshafts fail.
On Currie's site, at least for the five-lug assemblies, they void warranty if a two-piece shaft isn't used. Pinion bearing failure is all I can imagine.

That is quite interesting. I'll have to push them for an explanation. In my distant past, I did have a carrier bearing fail and toss my driveshaft at speed, so I guess I'm predisposed to thinking one part is mo-better than two.
I think this warrants a deeper dive since I am hoping this Hemi conversion is mostly a "one and done."

I visited the shop again today, what a great bunch of people working there!
I am only days away from taking the JT up there to begin the Hemi swap process. I am scheduled for Monday, 4 May.
I think I am going to have the thing flatbed transported. The highway I'd have to use is a congested mess, with heavy road construction and slow traffic. I just don't have any confidence in driving it. Heck, I had considered starting to tear it all down here to remove sellable stuff and get the blower and associated parts off of the engine. Things like the fuel injectors will require significant disassembly.
So, I want to get some opinions from fellow owners on a sensitive subject:

Should I contact Ripp to send that supercharger back? There's some history here: they sent me a replacement supercharger after the first one made all that noise. And the second one has made no difference in correcting the issue. If I had known that the thing sounded like it does, I would NEVER have purchased it in the first place. Is it fair for me to try to return it? To ask for my money back? I feel bad about doing so. I almost never return anything or ask for a refund, but this is a big one, nearly $7K!
Advice???

I’d say you’re perfectly in your right to strike up the conversation for them to make it right. Maybe try to get some really good audio of the noises to help your case? Worst they say is no and you don’t recommend them to others. Or they say yes to some amount and you can still speak kindly about their customer service.

I have doubts they will take it back but it never hurts to ask.
If they decline, post engine and charger for sale as a unit once it has been pulled,

Good words of advice, gentlemen!

My wife is firm that I should request a refund/return.Me: not so much

I was going to sell it anyway, the motor and transmission, that is. Interestingly, if you have or had a supercharger installed, AMW will not take it in trade!

Has Ripp acknowledge there is a issue? If so, it would be in the realm that they should take it back as a return and refund.

That being said, there is usually a sliding scale of ethics that the more expensive something is to absorb, the less likely one wants to entertain such things.

My thoughts exactly. In that spirit, I was thinking of offering them a partial refund scenario. That would harm them less while showing their commitment to customer support, while taking the sting off my wasted purchase...

I’m torn on the return.
If you can say for sure that it is not functional, then you should definitely get something back. But if it works as intended, they have already gone above and beyond. They really shouldn’t have to refund money if the reason is that you don’t like the sound.
especially since they replacement one they provided sounds just like the original. Did they ever advise if something was actually wrong with the first unit?
