Ok my only other Jeep was my beloved 1976 Cherokee so I have no experience with the newer models so please don't jump on me if this is obvious to most of you:lipssealed:
I only really notice this on my winding country roads but the lower gears really shift roughly, especially when down shifting. It's not horrible but my Ram 1500 sure doesn't do it on the same roads. Is this just these trannies? Or any way I can tell if I have an issue? Thanks for any help.

How many miles you have on it? It can take a few thousand miles from bought new for the transmission shift software to adapt to your driving habit.

Also, if you have put larger than tires than stock especially on a Willy's with 3.73 axle gearing, it can change that shift point software mapping to where it is hunting for a shift point, especially if you have not program changed the PCM for this.

Thanks for reply. It does only have 1200 miles on it so hopefully that's what I'm noticing. Tires are stock.

My 23 has some odd tendencies similar to yours. Also only 2100 miles or so. As mentioned, it *should* break in. I also notice that it takes quite a while for the transmission to warm up, at least 20 minutes of city driving for me. I try to take different ways to and from work as it is only 5 minutes from my house, it has helped with the weirdness.
