It’s interesting to note the different treatment between the JT & JL with regard to the power train. The discrimination gives me the impression that jeep views the V6-8sp pairing as the utility option.

The V8 is cool but I’d like to keep this thing for a few decades which means replacing the engine at some point and the v6 is just far, far cheaper.

For the cost and being a body on frame platform, replacing the power train at end of life is a viable path.

A $4,500 price hike for an AT is absurd. I guess its all just a big numbers game to them, so who cares that they’re ultimately shafting their loyal consumer base.

A $4500 option?

Talk about soaking the consumer. The take rate on slush boxes much to my chagrin is pathetic here in Estados Unidos but this just smacks a Carlos Tavares-style profit boost. Congrats, STLA, you've just gotten an extra $4500 on 90% of the vehicles sold. Winning?
Just like to $2000 upcharge on my '23 JTM.......total bullshit and actually saved Jeep money from not having to deal with the bullshit clutch recall........wheres my refund??????

Wasn't it a $4500 option for the 2024 model year as well?

Manual is only fun in a fast vehicles. Why putting in the efforts shifting on an underpowered engine and ain't going nowhere lol

Get a Manual and install a Centerforce Clutch. It’s Cheaper 🤣
And still a poorly geared manual with 5th-6th gears within .1-1 of each other. You can choose a mediocre manual with a terrible clutch and sort of fix it or you can choose 1 of the best autos ever produced...

I can't speak for everyone, but personally I'd rather shift an underpowered engine than put it in drive and still go no where..... it's sad to me they decided to stop making manuals rather than just put a decent one in the JT. Between my wife and I we've had a dozen JK's with manual and never had any issues. My father had a JT with a manual, he didn't have any of the known issues with it, but he didn't like the feel of the clutch. They really dropped the ball

I agree. With an auto or a manual, we can go anywhere, but to your point, you won’t be getting there fast either way. I thought it was a Rip off at $2000 for the auto, now it is consented robbery 🤣.
