Now that the core build is complete, including improvements to engine cooling and appropriate gearing, the truck has been a joy to own and operate. Along with the 15' GC Summit EcoD, the VM/8HP combo has become long-term assets in the fleet.

is that a Mopar bumper bar "hoop" ? looking for one to put on a stock steel bumper... will a full size winch fit under it ? like a 12k ?

I wish I could take credit, as that 12$ hoop has generated more message traffic than Britney's new, uh, outfit.

It's a franken-chicom abomination.

Your rig is epic; love the now "discontinued" silver, which was my previous JT Sport S. I ordered Gregori with the sole purpose as a trailer-tow rig for the 28' Airstream, which is usually pulled by the 15' WK2 EcoD. However, this unit had to model: Rock Jock arms Eibach springs, links, Fox 2.0 dampers, etc., in order to demonstrate my own anal "proof of concept" for a 37" rig to effectively lug a big trailer. It does just that.

Twins! I love your truck! What lift/wheel size/tire size? Even has the bumper I want for mine. I hate the plastic one ?‍♂. Will be ordering ASAP.

Check out my build thread. Nothing in that build is outside of basic vendor-reach, including the order spec at any Stellantis FCA Jeep dealer in the States.

Only YOU can decide what YOU want. Especially when you give no indications at all what the use case is going to be, or what you're looking to get out of it.
I live in Louisiana but I’m looking to buildout for overlanding amongst mountains in US. Add a CAP with RTD, 2-3” high performance lift/Suspension with 37” tires!
I don’t want to be a rock crawler but I want to be able to go most everywhere!

Born and raised there, and began my AMC/Jeep apprenticeship there. See the build, or ask-away.

When I traded in my JKUR for my JTRS it fixed my two biggest compliants about my JK, how you would have to wring it out to get it to move and how it would hardly hold on to 5th gear. Having the torque of the diesel makes a world of difference, it makes the Jeep feel effortless.

That being said there are compromises, my truck being a fully loaded rubicon only has 909 lbs of payload, so keep that in mind.
Yes that concerns me with primarily for overlanding . CAP, RTT, 150 lbs of e-bikes, all the other gear

I went with the JTRD, can confirm the stock suspension wasn't all that great, but after installing the AEV 2.5IN Diesel lift and 37's it rides like a dream now.

Combined mpg with the lift and tires, bedrock and hardshell roof top tent is still 20.5-22mpg. I live in the mountains, but on longer highway drives it stays around 22mpg, and I see 8th gear no problem at all.

Average range on a tank is about 360ish, but can get closer to 400mi on long trips if you're nice to it

Don't see a need to regear, and the engine doesn't seem to notice the tires, just see it in the mpg's.

Found an ebay hoop says its compatible with the Mopar part#... but its $50.. not $250... I know usually you get what you pay for... but can they really be that much different ?

I'm approaching 17,000 miles on my 2021 JTD Rubicon and I have had no problems. I did have the MOPAR lift installed at the dealership before I drove it home. I installed a Warn Zeon 12S winch and
35X12.5X17 Nitto Trail Grapplers on Fuel Off Road 17"X9" wheels.

3:73 Gears seem to be exactly right for the available torque. The only minor complaint I have is that the JTDR is a bit light in the rear and it will break the rear tires loose if you don't have a light throttle foot on slick or muddy surfaces.

I vote diesel, but I'm also biased. I have a 2015 and 2020 Ram EcoDiesel. I'm looking forward to a Gladiator EcoDiesel.
