Did a quick search and didn't see it mentioned. The 2023 build and price is up. After the price increases in 2022 I had to do another comparison to my 2021 build.

So my 2021 Willys had an MSRP of $49,750

Exact build 2022: $55,470
Exact build 2023: $57,030

A $7300 increase in two years. That is insane!!

Well inflation, supply chain issue and COVID are all the excuses for it.

Part of me wonders if this is Jeeps way to combat the below invoice buyers like me and many of us here.

I get that. But a $7300 in two years seems pretty high.

And I don't think it has anything to do with below invoice pricing. Stellantis gets their money no matter what the dealer sells for. If a dealer sells for over MSRP Stellantis gets the same amount as a dealer sells for below invoice.

Totally agree itā€™s absolutely ridiculous . Itā€™s across all stellantis products. My 2500 tradesman hemi had a Msrp of 49500 in 21. Apples to apples 22 msrp a shade over $56k. At what point are consumers just out? I know Iā€™m close

Even if I was buying in 2022 I would either be out or settling for much less than I want.

I would have to see for myself what willys build is up 7300.

Rubicon and Mojave got a lot more expensive in 22 because of the now standard 8.4/alpine, but keeping the exact same options year over year the price increases were no where near that dramatic. To my knowledge willys added nothing in std equipment in 22 and only small bits in 23.

Always a doubter. But go do it for yourself.

Willys 3.6 auto
Any added cost color
Hardtop
8.4 premium audio
Cold weather group
LED lighting group
Active safety group
Tow package

The only difference between my 2021 and 22/23 is proximity locks are included in the Technology package.

And here is my original window sticker for comparison.

The base price is up ~$5,000 from 2021 to 2023. That's roughly in line with inflation sitting around 7%.

I checked my overland build and it's up $7,500 as well. Most of the $2,000 increase is the fact that the axed the manual from the overland offering... that's disappointing.

I have noticed this as well. And on top of it, and while I can't find the proof I thought I saw somewhere, I think the spread from invoice to MSRP has shrunk over the same period.

It is especially crazy given how long the 2021 year was and how short the 2022 year was - so we are really only talking a 1 calendar year price increase.

And then... when you factor in the increased money factor for financing all or any portion of the purchase from 1 year ago...

All of this is putting me on the sidelines for now. I guess I will wait to see what other special edition might peak its head out and if Stellantis has to start offering some factory incentives you can stack on the below invoice pricing.

I just refuse to pay that increase without getting something for it. If I had the foresight to know how things would have worked out, I'd have a 2021 Sting grey Freedom Max Tow right now. Well, a couple of life things made the practical side of me wait until they cleared, and then I was like, that Earl Grey color looks cool and the new model year is just around the corner (see how that has worked out for me).

It is honestly just making me re-evaluate my position entirely. I fall into the camp of not 'needing' a new ride, but my daily is becoming more and more small and inconvenient (and will by around spring of next year not be a real option) and my beater truck is rotting further into a scrap heap.

Ugh... venting over.

Okay, so base price (with a color) is up 3700 to MY22(40755 vs 44455) then another 2355 for MY23. That's 6k right there. That's close enough without options for me to believe the full amount without checking every penny.

FYI, doubting everything your told without proof is healthy. Admitting when your doubts are proven incorrect is also healthy. Thanks for the evidence.

And thanks for keeping the conversation civil and mature. šŸ‘ If this was a FB group it would turn into a bashfest of people calling others cheap or poor. Or not understanding economics.

Wtf. I've been saving to get an Overland with the manual, thinking I had some time before the whole thing was axed..

And now I read this!

Looks like my day is ruined
