I narrowed down my lift kit choices to the Mopar 2” kit with Bilstein Reservoir shocks, the Clayton 2.5 Ride Right with Fox 2.0 shocks and the AEV Dualsport RT 2.5 with Bilstein 5100 series shocks. After careful consideration and weighing out the pros and cons, I pulled the trigger on the AEV kit. Install pics and commentary to follow.

Been wanting this lift for some time now. Love the fact it has the Bilsteins included and love the geo correction brackets. Besides I'm an AEV fan, (besides their hideous looking bumpers). I've got their steering dampner currently and running the AEV 2" spacer lift.

I want to upgrade from the specer lift to a full lift here soon and I'm definitely going this route.

I was still 1-2 mph off on the speedo therefore made one more increase up in tire size with the Tazer and spot on. Filled the tank with gas and started tracking my fuel economy. Averaging 17.5-18 mpg combined on the new tire/wheel combo. Very pleased!
You probably already did this, but did you measure the actual tire height and use that value when adjusting with your Tazer? Most tires are not their advertised dimension. I measured mine when I went from 35s to 37s. My speedo seems to right on.

JT came out great, by the way

My most recent modification to my JT was the addition of wheels and tires. This has been the most time consuming as well as the most difficult decision to make. I looked at wheel after wheel and tire after tire. I studied the wheel specs and the tire specs. I looked at picture after picture. I changed my mind multiple times. Ultimately it came down to finding the ideal unsprung weight of the combo that would provide me with not only functionality but also satisfy my taste for aesthetics. The intent was to keep the weight of the tire/wheel combination as light as possible in hopes that I wouldn’t have to re gear immediately. After weeks of analysis paralysis, I finally decided on Toyo AT3s in C load, 35x12.5x17 (59 lb.) and Fifteen52 Traverse HD wheels in Asphalt black (29 lb.). Thus far I’m very pleased with how well my JT with 3.73 gearing handles this combination. Considering I live in Florida which is mostly flat, I doubt I’ll re gear anytime soon. When I do, I’ll re gear to 4.88 gears to prepare for eventually running 37s.

I was like you and looked too long on a set of new wheels for mine. I ended up choosing Matte Black Fuel Rebel 5's. Mine weigh about 6lbs more than yours though.
Nice choice on the Fifteen 52's

Thanks and yes I measured the tire height when setting the Tazer.

You won’t be disappointed.

It’s been a while since I modded my Willys. With Jeep Beach coming up in Daytona in April, I thought it was time for a bumper upgrade. I always liked the Mopar OEM Modular Steel Front Bumper but I never liked the price. Well, after reading most of the threads on the Amazon and E-bay knockoffs, I decided to dive into the world of Temu and purchased their steel knockoff bumper. I spent $266 and I must say, I am quite pleased. Here are a few pics of the bumper in “stubby” mode.

Added my TEMU steel skid plate to complement my “steal” Modular front bumper. The skid plate arrived in pristine condition. Had to buy some hardware and mounting plates from Amazon. All in for $150. Couldn’t be happier. Up next is some front grille pre runner lights.

Great thread
Thank you! It’s been fun keeping up with the updates on my Jeep. I’ve owned quite a few Jeeps in my life which I’ve modded on my own and this is the first time I’ve actually taken the time to document my build. It’s a slow process. A big item still down the road is re gearing to 4.88s.

So since I had huge success with my TEMU knockoff Mopar steel bumper and skid plate, I thought I’d add a few more TEMU accessories.
First I added some pretty cool metal door storage pockets. I got them dirt cheap on some flash deal. Definitely like them better than the plastic door storage pockets.

The next TEMU accessory was the knock off Mopar trail rail system for the bed.
This was $80. Much cheaper than the Mopar set up. I’ll give it a 9/10 only because I had to ream out the holes on the rails a little bit to make them line up with the threads in the bed. Once the bolts and washers were in you couldn’t tell I reamed out the holes.

So since I was on a TEMU roll, I found this heavy duty Bunker hitch step and hitch extender for $60. Cheaper than Amazon.

And back to Amazon for my last cheap mod, anodized black gas pedal and brake pedal covers.

I agree with you. They have been great tires. Very smooth. Easy to balance. Tread is wearing evenly so far.
