Rear axle got dropped off this afternoon. Hopefully have the front by Friday. For whatever reason they shipped it by two different freight shippers. 🤷‍♂️

The E-Locker connector did not survive the trip but that is a $7 part.

Should be a nice upgrade. Do these have the 4:56 gears? I installed standard Rubi axles on my sport model. Would have loved the lower gear ratio. Installed the LasFit locker/aux switch Set. Looks factory and has settings to function as factory if you like. Have been happy with the setup.

Well, got the front axle in today and am a little pissed. Seems this axle set is out of a Mojave but the VIN the seller used showed a Rubicon. So no front locker. Vent elbow was also broken but I knew that is a common occurrence with salvage pulls. Contacted seller and was offered a $500 refund and I took it. Just have to now deal with the front shock mount bolt difference and look for some shock bushings to overcome that.

Repurposed some HF moving dollies to be able to move around these axles for the working needing to be done. Doing this myself and them being over 400lbs each necessitated it.

Repaired the front axle broken vent tube and replaced the steering drag link end that was damaged during removal.

My back hurts just looking at it.
Yeah, it is a pisser. All being done in a driveway as the one car garage I have is full of other crap and would not facilitate this.

What is missing out of the pics was the three floor jacks I used going back and forth as the front axle wanted to rotate on it's axis with all the steering linkage stuff. Probably took me close to an hour to man handle it off the crate and onto the dollies I made. I think the rear axle will not be as difficult as there is less stuff on it.

Had a brake module on my motorcycle.
Where I'm at, they were illegal until recently, which was dumb because outside of sudden stops I made a habit of doing it manually anyway.

For the last 4 days give or take, been crawling around on the driveway installing a set of mint salvage Mojave axles from a 2024 model. Ever since I put 33" tires on my 2025 Base Sport JT, have been less than ideal for my like with the stock 3.73 gears. Even after adjust in JScan, got tired of the hunting and pecking between 7th and 8th gear on the highway and many times, it would hang in gear too long before shifting.

Came time for the install and found that having three floor jacks and set of modified moving dollies made this job a bit easier as it is unbalanced on the dive axle axis moving around. I was a one man band for this whole job and with the axles weighing in excess of 400+ pound each as shown, a lot of leverage use of the floor jacks and large pry bars to move stuff around was need. Also retained my FAD system and swapped the FAD delete plate on the replacement front axle for the FAD motor assembly.

Like anything, it is all nut and bolts but pulling the abs sensors to let hang with the brake caliper assembly made it easier. Floor jack under the pinion yoke area was also needed once the driveshaft was disconnect or the whole axle will violent shift again on the axis if not watching carefully. Rest of the install was just the reverse of removal.

Edit: Did have to drill out the front lower shock bushing to 9/16" that would accommodate the 12mm to 14mm mount bolt hole difference on the Mojave front axles.

I did have a couple of "While I am in here" things to accomplish. One was installing a Rusty's Offroad front trackbar reinforcement bracket. The second was installing the "Power Hop" damper on the rear axle.

Lastly, adjust the axle ratio settings in JScan for the new 4.10 gear ratio and took it for test drive. Did have some ABS issues that freaked me out but that was because the steering wheel was about 45 degrees out to the left but that was resolved once the steering position was adjusted in and straight. Have driven close to 75 miles today and everything seems fine and drives just like my two previous Rubicon JT's.

Had some PTO to burn or lose so took the day off work and piddled with a few things on the JT.

First was replacing the POS "Rexing" dashcam I had that wants to factory reset itself ever 2-3 weeks with a VIOFO dashcam. The VIOFO has a better interface and also GPS capability I was lacking the Rexing. Will see how this one plays out.

Second and last thing I did was replace the OEM factory stabilizer with a Monroe stabilizer. Had some steering bounce I would not call full blown death wobble but it made me check out my recent axle swap and after verifying all the torques on the front end, took off the OEM stabilizer and found about a 2"-3" dead spot. Went cheap Charlie on the Monroe stabilizer but had good luck with it on my 2022 Rubicon JT.

Installed MOPAR lift kit extended length front lower control arms and a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks that replaced the Rubicon ones I was running previously.

Have about 10 miles of road use with them today and have not formed a solid opinion of the shocks yet vs. the Rubicon ones. Does not seem as stiff as many say they usually are but I do feel the road expansion joints a bit more.

Looking good. Yeah, that does sound weird about them not riding stiff as that’s usually the first comment I hear. It must ride better than the stock Sport shocks though, right?

Installed a JKS Manufacturing rear track bar. Used 9/16 Grade 8 hardware. Expecting the front track bar later this week.
