Sounds like the Sport Premium is the best one then 😜
Nope - I've had max tow springs under an Overland.
I bought TWO Overlands for a reason. I drove them all, the Overland was the best of them all for a daily driver.
The Overland got the best mpg of any of them as well .

One is made to be a daily driver, good riding truck, and comfy, the other is made to tow and rides like it's made to tow.

They were optional for Overland in 22.
I guess they changed that because on my 2020 the ugly bleacher side steps were standard. Thankfully mine has the optional tubular side steps. I like them enough that I’ve never changed them. They’re surprisingly durable too. I’ve drug them over all kinds of stuff.

I want the 4.10s. Otherwise I think the rest of the Sahara package is great. I could get by without Max Tow suspension if needed.

A “good ride” is subjective too. I hated the floaty overland stock ride. The handling was trash too. It had ridiculously bad body roll if you pushed it on a corner. The weight transfer was so bad that I almost lost the back end a few times. I’ve had my stock suspension in my garage attic for 5+ yrs now.

Wow, I never had that experience with either of mine. Great ride and handled like a champ under all conditions, even doing 85 racing a derecho home a few years ago. Cross-wind excess of 50 mph (70 in spots they say) and it was straight and true - where-ever I aimed it. (and I tend to take ramps and corners at the max)

I drive trucks and SUVs like cars. It wasn’t bad till you pushed it, but once it hit its limits it was dangerous IMO. When I first bought it, I went around a long, sweeping nicely banked on ramp in Raleigh that I used to go 80 around in my 2017 Canyon and it stuck it perfectly. I tried it in my Gladiator and it about killed me. After I swapped out the suspension, it handled it almost as good as the Canyon. Now mine handles surprisingly well and stays remarkably flat on curvy mtn or country roads.

For sure. I think a stock Max Tow rides fine. So. Maybe id need to test drive that Sahara/Overland stuff first if I was actually shopping.

My truck is frequently loaded as well as I'm constantly honey-doing.

Miss my hydro blue overland diesel. Smart trim and should have never been removed in the first place. Would be nice if they allowed 4:10 gears and even max tow as options ? Also like someone else stated whould be great if they offered options like those old high altitude models that gave us front trail cam and steel bumper.

Off subject of suspension but I walked a dealership lot today for the first time in a few years as my truck was in the service department (whilst being circled by 3 different sales hawks) I was “trying” to see what the different options were available on the newest models available I was surprised to see the Mojave hood style offered on a sport s and nighthawk models(maybe more models not offered on the lot). That may be old news and forgive me for posting now but I’m not that guy who keeps up to the every second or every model year changes. I guess besides the upgraded suspension, frame and gearing I always thought the hood was the one of the ascetic upgrades that made the Mojave or the 392 distinctive . I like the Rubicon models as I owned one prior to this vehicle but the ride and ascetic characteristics of the Mojave I preferred. Just kind of disappointed they took the higher trim level hood and put it on the lower trim level truck. I guess whatever it takes to sell em. It was entertaining listening to the younger salesman trying to convince me to buy! lol! 🤣

I have a "high tier" one with painted flares, but you know what, some color schemes look better with more black to break up the color, so black fenders or top does not make one "low tier" and i hope they keep it as an option.

I was referring to what I like to call the "low tier/budget" Rubicons.

Sounds like you have a high tier one. But also the margin to get all that, is super high imo. So, you likely got raped in price or could simply afford it and likely not bothered by the high margin for such. I, unfortunately don't have it like that. That's why I mention the "value" factor.

Don't get me wrong, if I could have justified the extra 10-12k (when I purchased back in 21) I'd got a Rubi with the same features as my Overland. But considering I don't absolutely have to have disconnects and lockers, I couldn't justify paying an extra 10-12k for primarily those two main features I'd rarely use.

Yeah, that tier stuff is bull.
Some prefer the black for many reasons - don't worry about scuffing in the rocks and brush, and so on for one thing.
I agree - my wife prefers all body color, but frankly, some colors, white is an example for me - looks better broken up with the black. I think it's a good, sharp, contrast.
Tiers - great how some classify things LOL. Nothing to do with can or can't afford and so on - it's a personal preference for many.
Big discussions here how some of the hard-core folks really prefer the black as they can touch it up so simply after a weekend of abuse. Try that with my color-matched parts.

If this follows the Wrangler playbook, Sahara (like Overland before it) should be more than a Sport S with a Premium package.

Sahara normally includes nicer interior pieces (padded leather-covered door armrests, rear center fold down armrest, dashboard covering, contrasting stitching everywhere), added sound insulation, painted fenders, painted roof, big brake package, LED headlights, turn signals and fog lights, etc.

Until recently, Sahara included standard side-steps but, for some reason, Jeep decided to make them an extra cost option a few years back.

I agree! I prefer if they give the people the option of having the black fenders and black top because some colors look great with the break up. Example i love jooose, old pumkin orange and the old hella yella(wrangler) however i never get them all color, just too much. Mojito,Hydro-Blue, Dark blue i would def get them as one color. At the end of the day all these damm trucks are expensive regardless of the trim lol Nothing is lower tier and this is coming from someone with the last of the roll down windows

I truly don’t care what anyone thinks about my Jeep, but I have noticed that a lot of sports have overland wheels on them now. With my overland being debagdged and having black emblems on it, people probably think it’s a sport. Even if they wanted to look inside, my tint is pretty dark. The overland black leather seats do still look really nice.
