I have heard from numerous advertising that the 2026 wrangler and gladiator had new tuning that improves improved steering.
Has anyone bought a 2026 gladiator and compared the “steering wander” to earlier years?
Thx

Has anybody even seen a 2026 Gladiator in person? Nothing but 2025 and some 2024 models on lots that I've found.

edit: A quick check of the Jeep website shows zero 2026 year model Gladiators available at this time, ie, none have been built yet. Kinda hard to get an honest impression of any improvements when the vehicles in question don't exist.

Retired. Beach bum.
I have no idea about steering improvements in 2026’s. But my 2024 at 14,550 miles developed death wobble. So naturally I made the 1 hr. trip to the dealer I purchased at. They replaced a leaking steering damper, plus completed a front end alignment. The printout showed 0% caster, so they made whatever adjustments needed to bring into spec, showing a green 2% poss caster. That has definitely improved steering feel, especially at highway speeds. The steering wheel is completely flat without my hands on. Flick the wheel either way and will return to center immediately. Without any wonder. Almost as good as the rack & pinion in my last truck, 2019 Colorado 4x4. That’s saying a lot.

I test drove a 2021 Mojave a few years ago, and it really wandered - you definitely had to steer and be awake at the wheel or it would drift all over on the freeway! But I purchased a 2024 Mojave in January, and the steering is solid! It doesn't drift or wander at all. Huge improvement. I've taken it on some long road trips and it is a joy to drive - especially with the adaptive cruise control. :) So in my opinion, they've already made huge improvements on the steering even with the 2024 mode. I have not driven a 2025.

I had wander on my 23 when I left the dealer. The cause was simply 44 psi of air in all the tires. Bring that back down to 36ish and the wander was eliminated. I wonder if the newer models are leaving dealer lots with less air in the tires and that’s the feel people have

My 2025 Willy's JLU with the 35 inch tire package has a much nicer steering feel than my 2022 and 2023 Mojave's had. Feels tighter but could still use the Mopar lift kit lower control arms to improve highway feel.

Mojaves of course had the steel steering knuckles versus the Willy Aluminum, lighter feel from lighter material .

Yes tires is my guess as well.

Google search turned up a little from other forums.

More precise steering
- More precise on-center feel
- Recalibrated steering rack
- Mechanical and electronic enhancements, tighter tolerances
- Electronic power steering system with new programming to vary assistance based on vehicle speed and driving conditions

* More Precise Steering: The 2026 Wrangler will have a more precise on-center feel, recalibrated steering rack, and mechanical and electronic enhancements.

The XR package comes with steel knuckles with the wide heavy duty axles. Not sure I'd say lighter feel, tighter yes. Also maybe just coming from the bigger Gladiator back into a smaller JLU has something to do with it.

Wrangler ? Not Gladiator? Or you think same thing applies 🤷 🤔 from His JLU to the JTR or JTM or JTW ?

I'd think it applies to the Gladiator too, but maybe it'll be like that full float rear axle.
Yeah that full float would be strong but , that isn't going to happen during my lifetime . Unless I get some 60's and do a transplant . Which I aint doing either 😂.
My old Dana HD axles in my old 74 Ford were full floating. Heavy son of a guns .
